I think you're on the right track looking at different valve covers. Good cast aluminum valve covers that are machined properly should go along way towards stopping the leaks. Let me know when you find a good set
Cast aluminum makes a big difference on the ford 302 at least 👍

No shortage of aftermarket covers online, if I upgrade you'll see it

More than likely if I get fed up I'll try thicker cork gaskets...

Of course! Only thing that could get my wife's 78 mustang to stop leaking.

I used rubber gaskets stuck to clean valve covers with red high heat gasket maker and let set up for a day so they don't slip when installing. Then same gasket maker to bottom of gasket to clean head. Then used valve cover hold downs. No more leaks.

Valve cover hold downs are probably a good idea too

Finally got the stripe on!

Parked out in the desert with no rules, spent the day on it.

The Dog Canyon boondocking site was nice, and we thought about staying a couple more days. The neighbor that walked up in just a dirty thong & shaved legs ... simultaneously talkative and rude ... wanted to stand there and watch us work for 10 minutes.... racked up about one red flag per second of interaction... yea... he convinced us to go check into the state park early

Didn't want to break my camera... If you want to see in person, I can send you exact gps coordinates.... You don't have to find him... Just get close and he'll find you...

I felt better knowing we weren't the only ones, he walked up and tried talking to everybody. I think he is in a pattern of scaring off every single camper every single night.

Don't forget to add that color to your tray. I left the silver leafing out on purpose.
