Now imagine you would have had the brakes done by some moron for triple the price and 1/3 the care. You are coming out way ahead.

6 degrees outside, 13 according to the coolant temp sensor, started up first crank!

I heard Peter's start right up as well, so it sounds like his hard start issues are solved!

Hard to tell what's a drift vs accumulation but I'm guessing this is a lot of snow by texas standards

Landline internet is down but fortunately the pepwave 4g connection is still working fine, so we can still log into work

Nice! Really well done. That looks like the same model Splendide we installed. Sure is convenient and does a great job.

When installing the Splendide did you bring it thru the doorway and down the hall?

On our 310. I think the hallway is 23” at the narrowest point. DW still refuses to let me remove her 3 drawer cabinet in the kitchen for a Splendide washer. Looking at alternate locations [emoji57]

Yep, had to take off the door and maybe some of the things on the back if I remember correctly. Barely fits.

When Magnet cut a hole in the roof of his 310 for his stove, I wasn't all that impressed about that major modification. He had to come all the way down here to demonstrate it for me. There he is chopping more oak, since we are starting to run out of propane. We are having a record cold snap with thousands of people out of power city wide.

Yep, when I installed the woodstove it was for circumstances just like this... Just in case there was a bad winter storm, and the power was out for days, and I was worried about propane.

I just never thought I would need it in Austin!!

Quite seriously though, millions without power in texas, propane sold out statewide, day 4 of impassible roads... Very glad to have some spare firewood.

I think next year I'll winter in Florida

If you run out of wood, Peter might let you trim some of his trees!?[emoji39][emoji848]

So glad we got through there when we did![emoji51]

Stay warm y'all![emoji3063]

Can't tell but the woodstove is goin good. Been running it all day the last 2 days, for 48 hours only used propane for cooking and 5 minutes in the morning to take the edge off.

I don't wake up every hour all night to feed the thing so from midnight to morning just the heated floor and a little 1500w space heater keep the airstream at about 55 while it's 25 outside.

During the day I'm keeping the stove running on low and that keeps it around 65 in the Airstream if it's cloudy.

Of course if it's sunny I don't need either, every windows is approximately equal to a space heater with sun coming through it.

After a week of being frozen in place (literally), we finally lost our minds and had a bread baking contest, amazingly enough without ever planning it nor talking about it. I texted Magnet (the 50' walk is way to treacherous) that Bread will be ready around noon and he told me that he has bread rising on his stove. Both turned out good and we exchanged a few slices. Now the city will thaw to thousands of broken pipes. I had people laugh in my face last week, when I told then I would turn water off to the house.
I understand that northern folks don't understand the fuss, but the infrastructure is just not in place and probably never will be. To demonstrate the "joke" look at our fleet of snow removal equipment

Right?! I have been astounded by how hot the Argosy gets inside when the Colorado sun is shining, even when it's negative temps outside. Really says something about how much work the AC is doing in the summer, huh?
