I have never been to anything Airstream before, and would love to do this.
My June schedule is very busy but the weekend of the 9th is still open.
I have also never been further than 300 miles from home with this MH (yet). The closer to NY the better for me.
The only other thing that messes with this being a family event for me is our little guy is still in school in most of June, but I may be able to sneak out of the house for a long weekend and nobody will notice

There is a pretty cool little city park campground in Washington Ks with 15-20 spaces. 50 and 30 amp electrical service, water at several locations and a dump station. Its only $15 per site per night. There is a Creek and spillway adjacent to the campground and it's located next to the big city park/fairgrounds. The aesthetics aren't the greatest but it's compact and we would take up the whole campground I think. Not sure on their reservation policy though, it's a self pay situation. We haven't explored too much of the town but the park and campground are good for walking and there might be some activities going on at the fairgrounds.......there is a race track and rodeo ring. Might be worth checking out, its right off US 36. Just floating it out there

Martin and I might be having our own get together. It will be a small but perfectly formed affair.

Not me, but someone more organized could step up and get the ball rolling.

The PNW or northern Ca. Sound inviting once the summer heat sets in.

Ideas anyone? Volunteers?

Cheers Richard

I'm thinking someone less organized!

Organization and common sense are contradictory to owning a classic motorhome.

June Get Together

We won't be able to make any get together in June as race season will be in full swing then.

Good luck and have fun.

If I did Kansas I would look at Richey Cove, in Council Grove KS. The group site is 30amp hookup, for 8 Motorhomes and outdoor pavilion for $100/night. We can split it between those who would be willing to attend. Still researching the options in KY. Would be willing to entertain other sites. I am looking for a place on a lake with a beach as part of the campground that also allows fishing.

LOL... too funny. Maybe one of these days I will be adventurous enough to go to Europe with the motorhome, but not this summer.

Richey Cove looks beautiful on the water there. Have you camped there Nick?

OK, this has definitely got me thinking.

How many of us are there in the west, do you think?

I have never organized something like this before and I've never been to an Airforums event.

Mike,

We have, and have had group campouts there before. The facilities are excellent, and the price is great. The group site has spots for 8 RVs. one in each side drive, and four in front of the Pavilion. It would put us on top of each other, but no different than last year. Will also look at boat rental options.

The question is:
Kansas or Kentucky? Would like everyone's feedback to get it locked in by the weekend.

Timing: Have only heard feedback for the weekend of the 9th, so currently planning for that weekend.

Please take the time to post so we can start putting this together.

Either state would be fine with me. As you know, I'd LOVE it if it could stay the weekend of the 9th so that I can be there. It'll be strange for me to not be sleeping in my SUV in a nearby truckstop. Hehe!

Count me in. I'm about as far North and West as you can get and still be in the USA so probably not the best location for a meet. I am a fan of the redwoods.

Hey Smartstream,
That sounds promising.

We are planning a roadtrip from the SF Bay Area, where we are now, through Oregon and into Washington and then BC, sometime probably anywhere from late June to mid-July. If we do an earlier get-together we'd probably still be in Northern CA. If do it a little later, we'll have made some ground.

In know Keyair is in Southern CA. Don't know his plans. Anyone else?

If you get this way stop in, we'll have a mini meet. If you are thinking about Victoria we are about 7 miles from the ferry dock.

HI Smartstream, Jenniflow, and other western classic motorhome owners.
Since there is interest in putting together a western gathering. And to do so here could become confusing to the efforts happening here for the eastern get together.
So I've started another thread in the hopes we can organize a gathering for those of us in the western part of the country.

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f311...ml#post1932118

I've proposed a possible place and time there to get the ball rolling.
Come over and join the process of pulling together a western gathering.

Cheers Richard

Unfortunately we won't be able to attend this year's Get Together. I hope it is as great as last year's was.
Sincerely,
Ray
