Team,
I went to book Richey Cove since we have enough for the group site, but it is already booked. I have a few options in the area I will pursue. Mike, would you send me the details of the site you had discussed previously in a PM?

Looks like you need to clear up some space in your private messages, it wouldn't let me send.

That price, or anything like it, works for me.

Hi Mike
We were dicussing that this morning and I don't think so a little to far for a couple of days. Plus I will be back to work by then.
But we are planing on going out west for a couple of months this coming winter probably Jan / Feb, Arizona,Nev, New Mexico. we will likely just wander around there is lots of boondocking and state parks out there.
Check out this link

Might be something for you and Lynn to consider

Here are a few links about the campground in Washington KS. I don't want to talk it up too much because it's not anything like a big, beautiful state park. Its small, 20 spaces, with 20-30 and some 50amp electric at each site. Water and dump station there at the campground. Its adjacent to a small river and spillway, a big city park with playground and pool, and the county far grounds. What appealed to me, as far as the gathering goes, is that it's confined and we would be all together. I seem to have lost all my pictures. The fair grounds has a race track, not sure what their schedule is for racing. I did check to see if there would be any conflict with the county fair, it's not until late July. I'm really not sure if they take reservations though Vycan. Its a self pay park, $15 per night so the price is right. We haven't ever explored the town too much other than taking some long walks around the campground area. Gravel and grass sites, pretty level. We've stayed there probably 5-6 times on our way to CO and have always been the only rig in the park. But, it's always been off season. It would be good in that we would probably take up most the sites but it's not the most aesthetic place, not trashy, just not like Penn Wood or Cheyenne Mountain. The river and spillway are nice, there is a GREAT playground in the adjacent park for the kids, the public pool is right there also and shares its bath house facilities with the campground. Its just about 4 blocks or so off of US36 at the very south end of town, the road dead ends at the campground so no traffic or anything. It might work. The reservation system, or lack of, may be a problem.....I've never tried to make one there.

Team,
I spoke with the city of Washington, and they said under no circumstances will they allow reservations. They also said it is usually only 1/4 full except during the county fair, and that is at the end of July. Do we want to chance this? The campground seems very nice by comparison to others I have seen, with proximity to a pool, creek, and it is off the beaten path. Throw in $15/night and it seems like a nice option. However do we want $40-50/night for a guaranteed reservation?

We are going to be there either way, really no preference. Looks like attendance is going to be less than 10 rigs, I would be very surprised if Washington City Park couldn't accommodate us. There is a nice little privately run campground just a few blocks from the city park......haven't stayed there but it gets good reviews.....should we need an overflow option. Rose Garden Campground.

I have to get the 94 back to Michigan soon. I might try to plan the trip to stop by Washington for the get together.
