1982 280 turbo diesel general questions:

I recently purchased the above described RV and hopefully did not go in w completely stardust covered eyes.

I will post pictures later but my internet connection is slooow where I am and combined w the software used by this forum, it will take a while. Iím going to use this thread for general questions, starting w these:

1) I need new window channels for the sliding windows in cab, (driverís area), is there a generic solution that anyone has used for these? It seems like something that could be bought in bulk and cut to size, assuming itís the correct thickness, etc.

2) Less important but looking for the wood grain aplique adhesive for the outside trim area, mine is mostly gone. Any hints on that are appreciated.

3) Suggested vendors for front window curtains. I contacted the one I found in a search on this board but the quote is very high, IMO, so looking for any alternatives people have used.

Thatís a good start, Iíll be adding plenty more in the coming days as I work on it. Thanks in advance for any help!

1. See post #6 here:

https://www.airforums.com/forums/f31...ce-136024.html

2. I have pretty much given up on this. The original stuff is NLA as far as I know, and I have not been able to get a reasonable quote from a vinyl decal supplier. My plan is to strip the remains of the original decal and paint dark gray/black to match the bottom of the coach, as far as I know that will be Dupli-Color BGM0534.

3. We splurged on new curtains for the bedroom and cab a few years ago, I think it was about $700. We got a high quality custom made product that looks original from Carey Boland, airdrapes@gmail.com. For the other windows in front we ordered inexpensive wood blinds online and are happy with them.

Thank you very much! The linked thread you provided has a lot of good info but it seems like he is talking about the side windows along the RV as opposed to the cab windows. I could be wrong.

I will contact your curtain supplier right away. Much appreciated.

This supplier, (Carey Boland), does not make curtains for motorhomes, only trailers. Are you sure that was who you used? If so, he or she has stopped doing RVs.

Yes, it was Carey but it has been a few years. I sent her my old curtains and she copied them. Seems like the bedroom curtains would be the same as a trailer, but the cab curtains would be unique to motor homes.
