Today I made two, (blackout) covers for the Kitchen windows. All the windows have a mirror finish on them, so during the daytime, you can't see thru the windows... at night, one can see right in.
I used velcro "hoop", tucked between the wall and the aluminum extrusion to hold the top of the cover in place. On the sides I used "D" rings, which loop around the window openning-knobs.

Today I'm getting Rita ready for our weekend getaway to Seven Feathers Casino & Resort. The Bunny and I are looking forward to going somewhere we haven't gone before.
I was going to hike Mt. Lassen this last week, but the Park has the summit trail closed for repairs... it looks like they will have the trail open for 3 days this holiday weekend, just in case anyone is going to Lassen for the Holiday.
More photos of yesterday's task... You don't really notice the velcro when the covers are remove, which is a good thing.

Yep....look on page 26/27, I made the diner cushions for Rita. Back in the 80's I purchased this sewing machine from a Smokejumper here in Redding. I used it to make web belts and knife cases for the rookie firefighters...they all wanted a smokejumper web belt, a buck knife, and a pair of White's boots..."then you looked like a firefighter!"
Anyway, I've had this sewing machine for a long time....most of the time it has been collecting dust.
The RV park is one of the best for the money...$35 per night. Nice indoor pool and spa. There is a nice bike riding/walking trail from the RV park to the casino, which is across the freeway from the park.
Here's some pics of the 1st day...I met this guy named Art, who has a pet squirrel named Chip. And the Bunny's little bar above the fridg.

I also met this nice Airstream owner by the name of Dennis Edmonds out of Weed Ca. He has a 89/36'...a very nice trailer, with solar. He was with his buddy's from the Yreka Ca Elk's RV Club.
This was the first time that I had pulled the awning out on Rita, since I purchased her, last Sept. The end fell apart because it was missing a bolt. So, The Bunny and I rode our bicycles to the ACE Hardware store, in downtown Canyonville. I got 4-1/4" 20 thread replacement bolts for the tip of the awning. It's funny.... this is the first time that I had my rubber Hammer with me....DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!

Downtown Canyonville has a cute little city park with a covered bridge and a nice set-up for there Pioneer days...which is next weekend.
There was great little service road that went up the hill just behind our trailer site, which turned out to be a nice place to walk the dogs and pick Blackberries for pancakes and micowave jelly for the toast....

This morning was an easy site breakdown and go...The Tribe also own the truck stop between the RV park and the casino, next to I-5 exit #99. So, I fueled up before we got on the road...easy!
Halfway home, which is approx. 110 miles, there is a great rest area on the Klamath River just inside Ca. We stopped there under some nice shade trees on the far end of the rest area. The Bunny made lunch, and the dogs did their "Thing". Total miles round trip was 450 miles and I used approx. $100 bucks in diesel.

More pics of the rest area on the Klamath River,(Randolph Collier Rest Area)... This is the gateway to my old stomping grounds from the 90's, down the Klamath river 48 miles to Scott Bar Fire Station.

On the way home from Seven Feathers today, The Bunny and I talked about how we felt about the overall trip, the RV park, and the casino... We both came to the same conclusion, we love the place, and we want to come back here once a year, hopefully on Labor day weekend.

Looks like a great trip for $100 of diesel. No big jackpot winnings? Cool trip anyway, thanks for sharing.

The casino was not giving up anything...to us. The Bunny lost money, I won $5.25, playing poker, over a period of 10 hours of play, on two different days. So, we both loved the RV park, and hope that maybe next time, the casino will be a little bit more forgiving.
7 Feathers RV park is rated in the top 10 parks in the nation... and #1 in Oregon. And because this place is connected to a casino, they can keep the price down... $35.50 per night, with a players card and Good Sam's card, (that's 10% off for each).
I enjoyed the pool, spa, walking the dogs, and bike ride, more then the casino, (I don't like the cig. smoke in the casino). I would go back, even if there was no casino, and do day trips to the wine vineyards & Crater Lake Nation Park. Plus there is a Wildlife park down the road, so there is a lot to do in southern Oregon, other then giving your money to the local Tribe.
More pics of this last weekend...
Canyonville city park, new 1/4" bolt in awning, flip-flops & tools...

This coming weekend is the Dog Pound Motorcycle poker run that ends at Lakeshore Inn & RV Resort...the wildest camping trip of the year!
Also this weekend is the Sundial Bridge Music Festival, which is a free event. Plus, Shasta Lake Fire District is having a 9-11 sunrise memorial at Station #1 @ the "911 memorial site".
I would like to go to all three events...not sure if I will?

Today I removed the old AM/FM tape player and replaced with a new CD/MP3/FM/AM car stereo, plus new speakers. I cut out a new face plate from some of the left over aluminum extrusion for the new stereo.

Once I got the new mounting case built for the stereo system, I wired the power plug and speaker wires together, (blue/black right side, Red/black left side), then slipped the stereo into place. First CD in the player....Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird! Slipped the top plate in place, which will be used as CD storage. Very happy with the outcome....

Today I installed and wired two more speakers located "Mid-ship", where the original speakers were mounted. Also drilled some air vent holes in the top cover...I noticed that the back side of the new stereo gets pretty hot, so I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to have that area vented to reduce heat build-up...
Also purchased a MP3 player at Big Lots, for $20.00 bucks... this morning I copied 20 CD's onto my new player, it is a 4G, so it should hold 2,000 songs. Had Rita Rock'in until the football game came on...

More pics of today's tasks... I was using the "Laguna Surf" sign as a cover for the old speaker hole, so it has a new location above the sink... Go Green Bay!!!
