Nothing like waiting until the last moment to drain the blackwater tank, and to see if my "Paper Problem" has been resolved.... Don't really want to drive 20 miles up Interstate 5 with a full blackwater tank. Time to test my learned skills,(From Tahoe campground 2 weeks ago), with my new "Blue Boy".

The Blackwater project is completed without any problems.... next thing on the check list is to go to Redding and pickup saw parts, beer, and money. Than back to the homestead to hookup Rita and have everything ready for The Bunny, once she gets home from work.

PS, Kay... you're correct on the size of the Blackwater tank, (18 gallons), I had approx. three inches left, to the full mark in the blackwater tank. It filled my 15 gallon Blue boy within an inch of overflowing. If I was to buy another Blue Boy, I think I would buy one with a lower profile, (if they make them).... I had to drop the front end of Rite in order to have a gravity feed to the Blue Boy. And I was still a little bit high on the Blue Boy feed to the tank. The Tank looks fairly clean... But I plan to flush the H*ll out of it before leaving Lakeshore RV.

Just got back from our campout at Lakeshore Resort.... The first thing you should know about Lakeshore is, 10 PM quiet time is NOT enforced. And on Saturday nights, they always have a live band at the bar, Plus most of the folks who stay at Lakeshore Resort are "Party Amimals". Lots of young couples, with there boats and Lance campers.

So, if you're looking for a nice quiet place to walk your dog, and go to bed at 9 PM, this is not the place for you....you should stay down the road at Lakeshore East campground, its a Forest Service campground with lots of rules!

Anyway, Friday night, it was only Porno Bob, Sue, and The Bunny & I. So, we went up to the bar for a couple of drinks and back to our campsite for a big, big Cowboy campfire, and loud music, (southern Rock...mostly, and some of the Bunny's hair music for the 80's).

The next morning Bob and I went wood cutting on Sugarloaf Mtn. We cut approx. 1/2 cord of Oakwood for Bob. In was too hot in the PM, so we called it a day.

Once we got back to camp, Greg & Terri were already there at our campsite waiting for us. So, we showered and went up to the pool and drank Red Beers. Within an hour Wino Wayne & Roxanne arrived, (they used our "loaner Tent" from WalMart).

After setting up Wino's tent, The Bunny, Roxanne, Wayne, and I went for a bike ride across Doney Creek bridge over to the Basshole Bar & Grill.

Pics of the first nite with just the four of us...

Wino, Rox, The Bunny, and I stopped on the north end of Doney Creek bridge to put our feet in the water. When we were down there... Indian Mike and Chris showup. They camped at that location and so they could go Catfishing all night.

Mike and Chris did come up to our campsite for dinner, we had Pulled Pork, Pork ribs, and some of Greg's special Chicken. Lots of great food was had by all.

The band Saturday night, played lots of Neil Young, the Beatles, David Bowie, and other 60's cover music... they were nice to listen too, but not a great dance band. By this time I was drinking water, but the girls had a couple of mixed drinks that put them "Over The Edge". So, this morning wasn't a pretty picture, for a couple young women I know...

Rex, if names mean anything, you hang out with some really interesting people. I'll bet you guys have a blast no matter where you are. We have a friend in Humbolt and dream of bringing the 'Stream out there some day. Love California.

I don't know how I missed this thread before. Gonna go back and start from the beginning.

Thanks Jim....I'm glad you found us! It's been a long hard road to this point with Rita! But she is much fun now that we can go camping in her.

We do have a good time camping together, and for the most part, my friends are very well behaved. We all started hanging out together because of our love for Harley's and riding. But, we seem to do more camping and less riding, now-a-days. Besides, it's to hot here in NorCal to ride harley's during the summer months. Today was a cool 95 degrees, normal temp's should be in the 100's in July for the greater Shasta Lake area.

More pics of this weekend.... Chedder & goat cheese, with Cheese whiz as a topper!

Love this thread, the airstream pics are amazing. Your labor on Rita is inspiring! It's good to see a remodel and camping in the same thread.

Thanks Mr. Uzzah... I thought it would be easier for me to post any and all things that "relate" to our airstream and it's use in one location. It's more like a blog, but I'm still working on her everyday.

Like this last campout, I developed some problems with the leveling jacks... I'll post some pics of the problem tomorrow, I know someone out there has had the same problem with there 40 year old jacks.

Hey... life isn't always wonderful around here! Like today when I'm under Rite, trying to fix my leveling jacks! It looks like the keeper-nut fell off the back side of the jack. And the threads are stripped....I think. Up-date in the PM.

Or last week, when I screwed-up two of the cabinet doors...

Hopefully I can go to Mt. Shasta City tomorrow, and have my cousin Rich show me how to make professional looking doors, in his cabinet shop, at his house, (I call tonight, to see if Rich has time for me to come up).

Life will really be "WOMDERFUL", if I can make this happen with my cousin.

Plus, another friend of ours is the Mtn. manager at Mount Shasta Ski & Board Park. Rich was telling me on the phone that Rich Coots may let us cut firewood at the Park, (if... they have any tree removal projects going). Coots and I both worked for the Forest Service, he worked in Law enforcement, and I... in Fire management. We both are retired now.

Fixed the two leveling jacks in the late PM, once Rita was in the shade. I purchased five 3/8" lock nuts with 24 per-inch-threads...I used two, so I have three in the tool box, just in case I need another nut in the future.
Not sure what kind of lube I should use on the threaded rod? So, I used some axle grease....

First pic shows end of rod with missing nut, second pic shows rod with new nut.

Just waiting for the rear end of Rita to get into the shade, so I can work on the eletrical shoreline wiring problem. I posted a new thread under "eletrical" 30 amp 120v wiring problem, to see if I can get any advice on the issue.

Today I cut and removed the eletrical plugs what were inline on my main shorepower line. I'm testing the system as I type, with the AC on I will go outside and check for any hot spots within the wiring. I left the GIF+ inline for now, until I can get a volt meter to the test the system, and buy a new 25' shorepower line, and wire that direct to the breaker box.

So TOP, I will take your advice and replace the 30 amp cord from Rita to shorepower, with a new 25' shoreline power cord, but not today.

Not sure why the GFI+ was added to the eletrical system...maybe the PO added it, when he replaced the hotwater heater with a gas/eletric two way system?

Great plan Rex!

I know you've read most of the posts by Barts on GFCIs. I'm not a fan of them. They cause some crazy problems sometimes. The less connections the better. Keep it simple.

After all of the good feedback I got yesterday....the plan is to replace the 30 amp cord, and get rid of the GIF+. You may have noticed that wiring is NOT one of my strong points. I know just enough about wiring & eletrical systems, to get myself in trouble. Anyway, the other reason I put off that project is... I need to get ready to go to Mt. Shasta City Thursday morning, (a 60 mile drive).

I talked to my cousin this morning, and the plan is to drive to his house, with Rita in tow. Back her into his driveway, next to his cabinet shop, and build four professional looking cabinet doors in the PM!

So....I just got back from Auburn Lumber where I picked-out; five 10' x 5" Red Birch boards. Also got 14 "hidden" door hinges, designed to be used with a 1/2" overlay on the faceframe.

Not sure myself...my cousin Rich is the cabinet maker. But, I will post pics, and hopefully learn from him.

Wow, do you really live in Possum Holler? It sounds like a place that a movie producer would use in a film about the south. It sounds like a place, rich in America history. I will have to give it a "google"....

No, just meant as a joke. As far as I know, there's no such place. Let me know if you find somthing on Google. I may have a relative there.
