How about a thin piece of lexan or plastic painted white? I thought about a piece of alumanum also... not sure about conductivity, although they use metal faceplate covers now in houses.

Those covers are beautiful! I like the idea of a frame or mat to make it fit. You could probably glue it to the back of the outlet cover to keep it in place. I'm not sure what to use; maybe a thin wood veneer?
When we replaced the covers on our Argosy, we had a hard time finding the right size. Finally found some plain white plastic ones at Home Depot. The outlet boxes must have been installed on a Friday; most are crooked and hacked in. The new covers can't quite hide all of those faults, but a frame might work...
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Looks like I missed the call from the driver who has my axles.... I left a message on there phone to call back. Hopefully he will deliver the axles to my house, otherwise I will have to drive to Orland, CA, (not Corning), and pick-up the axles between 5:00 and 9:00 AM tomorrow. Orland is approx. 1 1/2 hours south of my location.

I have been playing phone tag with YRC freight CO. most of the day...good news! They just called back and said that they will deliver to my house tomorrow. 
I jacked the trailer up today and pulled the propane line out of the way. Sprayed the nuts again. Tomorrow I will go over to my parents house and get my Dad's impact driver... I will pull the front axle in the AM, hopefully. In the early PM, my new axles should be here!

Hopefully everything works out for you Rex. With any luck, you'll get the nuts off no problem. I didn't have any problems with mine. When you get the new axles in there, you'll probably have to jack it up an inch or two to get the wheels back on. Have fun!

Top.... did you heat the nuts with a propane torch? And than cool down with a wet rag? Or did you use any Liquid wrench? I think I may try both.

I just sprayed them with Whiskey Delta Four Zero (WD 40). No heat required. They came off without any problems. I guess I ate the bear on that one!

Just got the Nuts and Bolts off the front axle without heat, or an impact driver....just needed my tire iron to loosen the nuts. That Liquid wrench stuff work pretty good, only had to spray that stuff twice. Hoot, if you're out there, give me a call, I sent you a PM today.

Liquid wrench must work pretty well. So did you get your axles delivered today? How long from when Colin got your check until today? I have read on other threads that Axis was backed up. Maybe it was just the other supplier's issues.

This morning I attended the 30 year anniversary of this tragic airplane crash and structure fire at the Redding airport. The plane crashed into the Fire Cache Warehouse and Smokejumper base...they both burned to the ground.
In the PM, my new axles were delivered to my house. I got the front axle placed under the trailer, and will mount it tomorrow. Indian Mike welded this attachment for my floor jack, hopefully this U shaped attachment will prevent the axle from "Rolling" when I jack it into place. We shall see if it works in the AM.

All right Rex! Nice to see new hardware isn't it? Once you get the tube into the slot of the mounting plate you're home free, well almost. I used the two jack stand method to raise it into position. It worked pretty well, even on the grass. Looking forward to seeing them all bolted in.

Good Morning TOP.... Yes, Axis was backed up, so it did take a couple more weeks. There's always something to do around here, so it was no big deal that I had to wait. I may see if my step-dad will loan me a 2nd floor jack. Indian Mike had to wait until his 1st break at work, before welding my floorjack attachment. I will head over to my parents then over to Mike's shop as soon as I finish posting this......

Today was a good day...I got both axles in place, with one of the axles drilled and bolted together to the frame, and the 2nd axle is ready to drill tomorrow in the AM.
Capt. Kirk came over and helped me, (he is my friend who has the Army Harley)...we used the attachment Indian Mike made for me on my floor jack and we used our Motorcycle jacks to support each wheel of the axles.
Capt. Kirk cut his eye lid with a socket wrench. Story to long to tell, but he is Okay. Tomorrow I will pick up the stocks and mount them and finish drilling the new hole. PS. Tomorrow I will show all of you this great drill bit that doesn't kick back...called a Step drill bit!
Much easier than I thought it would be......

AHA!! i see you have been enlightened Obi Wan. The step drill IS a marvelous tool. Pretty much the only thing I will use in hardened material or big jobs.

My riding buddy, and heavy duty truck mechanic...Indian Mike turned me on to the Step Drill Bit. Talked to Indian Mike yesterday, he is very happy, he just got two offers to buy his 1937 Indian Motorcycle for $20,000. Not bad for a bike that hasn't run for three years.
PS Also very pleased with the performance of PB Penetrating catlyst..."The original nut & bolt buster."

That PB blasteris also great stuff!! Just do not use it on anything organic-like a fibre bushing or such. If it doesn't weld the bushing to the shaft, it will certainly deteriorate it. Metal to Metal only. Personal enlightenment gained by personal experience.

Good work Rex. Haleys axels are due.
We got another camping trip in but have not gotten the bikes out. Work has been horrific. The twin road kings look so good together. We will get them out one if these days.
Speaking of Indians. The constructor has had a 53 since the 70s. Quite the machine.
