Raining here today....but we have good weather news for the rest of the week, in the 80's. So, we are going camping to Lake Syskiyou on Friday. Lake Syskiyou is 10 minutes west of Mt. Shasta City (one hour north of our place), just below the 4,000 foot level, so it should be in the 70's during the day. The Bunny and I are very excided about the up-coming camping trip, and taking Rita....

Rex,
Nice work on the cabinets. They will really look great. That looks like a wonderful place to go camping. Only 70 degrees? That's too easy! We went on our first trip after getting Abby campable last weekend. Man, we had such a good time! Planning the next trip right now!

Hey TOP....did you post any photos of the Rally? Your campout was an Airstream rally, correct ? If so, let me know where you have them on the forum.

Today was a good day, working on Rita.... I completed the endcap for the overhead cabinet. Only had to re-cut the endcap twice to get a nice fit using recycled extrusions. I re-cut along the black line in the first photo.
When The Bunny got home from work, I had her help me set the overhead cabinet in Rita. I made two cabinet jacks out of some 2x4's to help set the cabinets in place... they worked great! Nice fit, no adjustments needed.
We pulled the cabinet back out, so I can stain the end cap, and add more "L" brackets along the top edge of the cabinet.

I don't get it Rex? Flip flops with socks in the winter, workboots (with socks of course!) in the summer? Must be a CA thing?? Here in the NW, it's Keens year long... socks optional in the winter....
All joking aside... I really like the nice long run of cabinets top and bottom. Makes the trailer look LONG and spacious.
Great work!

That is a beautiful overhead Rex! Very nice work you are completing. I figured that in the summer, you'd be barefoot.

Mr. Dark.... did you know that there is member that goes by the name of "Aluminum Falcon"... it's his last name, but you can call him Al.
Mr. Hoot, TOP, 3m, & Darkspeed; Thank-you all for your kind words and suggestions when I needed it. This overhead cabinet has taken me forever to build, so it's nice to see the light, at the end....
I can't wait until this weekend to go camping with our friends. Looks like Prono Bob, Indian Mike, and Wino Wayne are all leaving there Harley's at home and are bringing their bicycles. It's going to be interesting to see that many Harley guys on bicycles.
If we can get a ride to the ridgetop at Castle Lake, we can make an approx. 10 mile ride back to lake syskiyou campground. All down hill and a nice photo-op location....beautiful vistas and alpine lakes!

Today I continued working on the overhead cabinet...the task was to cutout and install plywood panels between each compartment. The hardest part of todays job was to ensure the extrusions fit nice and tight to the plywood. So, I used a wood clap to pull the extrusions down into place, once they were in place I used self-tapping screws to secure.
The temps got up into the mid 80's today, so I went swimming in the late afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow I can install the cabinet, once I hook up the lights.

Thanks again Mr. TOP = Trainer of Personnel. It's nice to finish the overhead cabinet...I will start on the cabinet doors next week. The cabinet shop wanted to much money to make the doors. Hopefully I can make them for about 1/5 the cost.
Today I am packing up Rita for our campout to Lake Syskiyou. We are taking Terry's bike up, so there's three bikes in the back of my truck. Not sure if they have WIFI at the campground...I don't think they do.
So, if you don't hear from me until Monday, that's the reason. Hope all of you have a safe and fun weekend, we plan to have a great time with our group..."The Lost Huffy's"
Another pic of the new overhead cabinet looking from the sink forward towards the bulkhead...
