The hardest part of any job is starting. I need to start up again.

Today I got back on the Horse. I built a "Moch up" of the bottom of the new overhead cabinet. First photos are of the original kitchen cabinets.

You may notice that the stove top has been been move approx. 2 feet down the counter top from the original loction. I will try to re-use most of the original trim, vent, and 12v fan. Hopefully this will help maintain some of the original look.

Yep....lots, and lots, lots of bikes; (4 bicyles & 1 Harley), tool wagons, and I even have wheels on my old school tablesaw, (the big & heavy tablesaw).

Raining here today....off & on. So my outdoor cabinet shop is closed. I stopped by the local RV store to look at 12v recessed lighting fixtures. Looks like I need to cut 4- 2" holes in the bottom of the overhead cabinet base for the lights.

If anyone out there has found a good source for rescessed lighting,(cheep prices), or really "cool" looking lights for the kitchen, let me know. I can buy 1 LED rescessed light for approx. $28. here at the local RV shop.

Today, the weather was good enough to open up my outdoor cabinet shop, in the backyard. Got the face of the overhead cabinet cut out, glued & screwed together. Had to build it in two 58" sections, because the total length is 115" long.

Photos below are with both section clamped together. Last week, the birds started moving into the "lighthouse" next to the pool.

Y'know, while I was looking at your photos (which are great BTW) I was wondering to myself if that long piece will go through the door? But then I realized that if it wouldn't, you could likely pass it through the front window.

Looks like you are making good use of a Keg tool. I've never used one, but it sure makes butt joints look sweet... Way to go!

I think the cabinet should go thru the front door in two flat sections, than assemable in place...but that is a good idea...to go thru the front window, if option one doesn't work.

Thanks, Trainer of personnel, I have lived here for 11 years. Like you, I moved for my job every 5 years... so this is the longest I have ever lived in one spot.

My big joke for years was... "I'm 5 years behind, in a 5 year landscaping plan." Which was true, up until 3 years ago when The Bunny and I had the pool built. Which fit, just right, in the last "wild area" in the backyard.

Now it's fun to host party's and have family and friends come over and BBQ.

We both are ready for it to stop rainning, and enjoy the hot weather Shasta lake is known for.

Thanks for the support Mr Constructor.... The Tiki Hut is my fav. place to hang out. I sun burn, so I like to stay in the shade, if I'm not in the pool.

Before I owned a 39 year old AS, my hobby in retirement was pouring concrete walkways with my "2 bag" cemment mixer. And working on my gardens... Photos of the pool area during construction.

That clamp is used to hold the corners in place when you're gluing & screwing your cabinet together, (corner clamp). I wanted to see how the two sections were going to fit together, so I used one of the corner clamps to hold them together for the photo.

Casini.... sad to say, we cancelled because of the issues I had with my tow vehicle last week, (cost to fix). I needed to buy a "blueboy" also. And we decided not to take the chance on the old axles, and 10 year old tires. Once I get my new axles mounted, I will be ready to hit the road.

So, I think the Bunny and I will go for a bike ride tomorrow, and check out all the old cars at "Cool April nites" @ the convention center/sundial bridge. We can park at the Keswick trail head and miss all that traffic by riding in thru the back door, (bike trail). If it's not rainning!

It's cloudy today, but The Bunny and I are going to take a chance and go for a bike ride to the car show @ the convention center.

Saturday turned out to be great weather and a wonder day for a bike ride. I didn't have my camera, but The Bunny had her new "Smart Phone", so she snapped this shot of me, next to an old "Woody", at the car show @ the Convention Center.
