Oh i'm so sorry I know how you are feeling we were devastated, I cried when I saw mine. You wait so long and are so excited it's just a real downer. Insurance will fix it but if your getting the parts in from the US I wouldn't recommend the company we have used.

Thank you girls! It certainly was a huge fall from the excitement Id been feeling. It was just shoved in the container and not even secured. They've made a real mess of it. Waiting to hear tmrw what the next step is. Here's some pics, turn away now if you're as sensitive as me...I threw in one of me smiling for good measure and one at the loading end. What the actual f%#* were they thinking when they convinced me this was a good idea??

There are some "professional" repairs they should cover.

You know, it can all be fixed.

We had always heard and read that break-ins are near-inevitable, shipping overseas.

Look at the upside, what you've got and what you're going to do with it. It's just the beginning of your great adventure.

I'm happy for you, and will look forward to your future posts.

They just put it into the container shell and let it bounce around in there???? Somebody should be horse whipped. So sad to hear about it.

No wheel chocks, no tie downs, not even any bubble wrap? That's horrible, I just ordered a toaster ( no really a real toaster) from Macy's a stainless w/red front 4 slice from Cuisinart. They just put the toasters box in another box that was way to big and it rattled around during shipping. If that angered me I can only image your disappointment. Yes it can be fixed but at least secure the item.

Amy,
i really feel for you, you must be heartbroken, i must have been very lucky, both my trailers arrived as good as they left. the shipping company should be ashamed, who did you buy from in the US ? who were the agents and shippers ? mine both came with K-line and were on the roll-on roll-off ship which are mainly used for vehicles. i hope you manage to get her straightened up again.

Horse whipped...haha. Yes, someone definitely needs a horse whipping!! The shipping agent says there is clearance around the trailer, visible I'm the pics. Is it just me or is he full of it?

I guess I missed the "clearance". Looks like they had to butter it to slide it in the box!

Haha, I have to laugh really. Or I'd cry. I will ask him today "how much do I owe you for the butter?" 😂

Mulligan, I was initially looking at RORO. He convinced me this was a better/cheaper option and was just as safe. I made a point of stressing the importance of the skin not being damaged and he was adamant that it would be fine. It would be carefully loaded, padded etc and would have about 100mm each side. (4 inches) Snug but safe...yeah. That was BS.

Even though we have never met, I am so excited for you! The closest I can imagine is waiting 2 months for my new truck to come across country on a big car hauling rig during horrible snow storms. It was super scary paying all cash for something, and hoping it matched the pictures! Enjoy your rig!

Take it one step at a time

Your fine Amy. While the repair job looks intimidating...it really is not that bad. Many of those repairs are, essentially, on the same road your restoration would have been. If you take a look at some of the restoration postings you will see that. Ask questions here and help is immediately available....more than you probably need. But your with friends who have done it all. Get your camera out and lets begin....

I've just taken some more pics for the agent. If anyone has links for parts I'd appreciate it. Thank you all once again. Once this is all over I will start a new thread for the renovation. Hopefully sooner rather than later! xxx
