Note to self or whoever may want to listen:
Disconnected the battery before unplugging the ECU/PCM (if you should find it and figure out how to remove it)

Your engine may not start if you don't follow the above warning.

A little decorating to get rid of the ugly floral vinyl in the "powder room" . real wood veneer with silver inlays. Its a wallpaper, not for the faint of heart to try to tackle.

anyone please point me in a direction where I can find the oil filler tube seal at the valve cover. Mine is seeping oil badly. I hope it can be replaced without pulling the cover?

Thanks Brad, looks like it is and I found it right around the corner at Autozone. My old one is threaded, but was glued into place with Blue silicon. It very hard, too. Have to see in the am if the doorman will fit properly.

Had to cut our hill country tour short due to bad bad weather. Looks we dodged some bullets by leaving Blanco, which among others things is known for very dangerous flash floods.

I pulled into the driveway backwards to let the nose stick out from under the RV Port to check for leaks in the cab. Just before it started raining, I decided to turn the beast around, because of chances of Hail ( Rather have damage to the rear then the front NLA Panels.)
I just was getting ready to pull out of the driveway and the engine died. Puff!
Crank sounded like no spark. Pulled the cover, stuck a screwdriver in one of the ignition wire holes and confirmed no spark. Immediately pulled the distributor cap and replaced the ignition module and bam, it started. Quickly pulled her out and turned her around and got her under cover just before massive downpours started.
Total time under 10 minutes, 5 minutes spent on finding my spare ignition module, I had stored away in a safe , easy to remember place.

This is my third AC Delco original part Ignition module D1984A. And yes, sir I put the grease on the metal surface.

Someone was watching out for you. You could have been on the freeway in the left lane passing someone at 80 mph......

Good job of troubleshooting!

Sounds like AC Delco is having quality control problems. This may be one of those cases where you want to stock just about every brand out there in the hopes of finding one or two that work.

And you aren't joking. Coming into Austin on 290 east is a freaking race track. Truckers take it personal when you try to pass them, which put me in an awkward position in the left lane going 75 with no way out. I tried to get away from this rock throwing dump truck, but just had to slow down and piss everyone else behind me off, so I could merge back into the right lane.

Wow! Glad you got out of it safely. I've been down that road where something breaks while passing a semi. NOT fun.

New AC is in. Love the Dometic low profile. Buy it without the heat strip and save 300, then buy the heat strip for $90.-

Also installed the drain kit.

So Peter, did you have an existing drain pan from you old ac mount and did you reuse it?

No Mike, its a different system altogether. The original AC's had a brilliant drain pan design, which was part of the AC. The only drawback is that they tend to get brittle and start leaking inside the coach. I have fixed several with vulkem and try to use those old AC's as long as possible, since they cool better. (R12)
It most cases, removal of the old AC will completely destroy the original pan, due to it being seal with vulkem.

The modern replacement is two cups, which are screwed to the bottom of the AC and a hose is routed through the gasket to the inside space to connect to your existing drain line.

A new AC typically comes with a new seal already glued to the bottom of the AC, so you have to drill 9/16 holes to route the hoses. A bit tedious and half a tube of vulkem is required.
