Nearest I found was Viper Performance (https://www.viperperformance.co.uk/p...html#one%20off). They were willing to manufacture a 'prototype' for around $500 for the mandrel, and then $250 for the first hose, but could not confirm either without having a hose in hand (or a 3d drawing). Individual/small quantities were same price as the prototype but if we ordered 100 it dropped to less than $50 each. That said they really didn't want to make less than 100, so the story could have changed once they had the hose in hand!

Post a couple of picture when you get a chance. I know I replaced it on my 79 a long time ago and would be curious to see it.

One free night with 30 amp and water at our Ranchette of the Deer in Austin, Texas and a bottle of wine, to the first person to correctly guess where specifically (your 350 doesn't count) this plug goes. Dean?

The manufacturer directions are only their opinion of the correct way to accomplish the end result.

I'm at a loss. It's not to seal anything since it has a small breather hole in the middle.

Not sure where you would use it on a 350 but I have used something that looks very similar. That was an air orifice so that you can have high pressure but a low volume to move air actuators.

some may call it hydraulic fluid, but theoretically you could find it in 70's Argosy as well as in 90's 350, 300, 250 or in any of the 80's 345,325,310, 300, 290, 280, 270and 240's I don't think Bob has it in his 370

Oh well, the bottle of wine I had in mind was this

Legendary 1945 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Bordeaux wine, Pauillac #2
currently for sale on Ebay for $20,000.00

Back to the plug. The official name is:

REAR CASE LUBE ORIFICE FOR 2WD 4L80E / 4L85E TRANSMISSIONS. (second pictures installed on the right)

When I removed the US Gear over/under drive from behind my 4l80e, i found this plug in the rear of the case and didn't have a clue what it did or did not. The new rear trans housing has a channel leading up to it (see 3rd pic tube on bottom), which is feeding the 2 rear shaft bearings. I talked to a lot of people about it and some said leave it in place, other said pull it out.
Finally when I picked up my custom 4l80e at Hughes Performance in Phoenix, I saw it had the plug in place. Everyone there told me it had to be there for my style of housing, being a 2WD. Removing it would flood the bearings and cause leaking. Only for 4WD it needs to be removed.

Finished the Radiator/water pump/fan blade/ clutch install. All tight. running at 195 at ambient 80 degrees. Just slightly annoyed, the new ACdelco fan clutch does not disengage. Roars like a train. Took it on the freeway at 75, never disengaged. Turned engine off in the driveway, let it sit for 10 minutes, still no go. any clues ? bad clutch?

I installed 3 of them before I solved that problem. First one was from Autozone. It never shut off. Second one was from Napa. It ran a few minutes, shut off for a few minutes, ran for a few, etc. It continued this pattern forever. Third one I went to my favorite independent parts house and got an AC Delco, which solved the issue. I'm guessing you got a bad one or one that operates at the wrong temps for the 454 MH.Every time I buy cheap junk parts, I get taught the same old lesson. Changing the fan clutch three times WAS NOT FUN!
