If your condenser lines are long enough, may be able to swing out to the side and support while accessing the radiator. Here is my rigging

I really did t want to require removal and recharging the AC refrigerant!

No go on the 350. Ac lines are left and right and Oil cooler lines on the bottom.
On a different note, I called a radiator place today and asked if they recore radiators. The guy answering didn't know what I was talking about, since they only sell new radiators ..

A 4 row record with 9/16” tubes runs around $900.00 in my neck of the woods. Regards, Bob

Finally got the Radiator out. Very difficult with the Power steering pump reservoir being the last thing to keep it from coming out. Only one bracket on the top of the frame needs to be unbolted, everything else can stay in place.
All 4 frame bolts on the sides have to come out, so the upper frame can be lifted enough to pull the radiator out.

I have a 20" fan, now trying to find a 20" 7 blade. Any leads welcome.
I also ordered

ACDELCO154949 Radiator Fan Clutch

ACDELCO251612 Water Pump its the one that says serpentine belt and it is the more expensive one. We shall see.

Radiator, Condenser and Heater core went to an old school radiator shop. Radiator will be recored, Condenser and heater core checked for leaks.
I found a Derale 20" 6 blade fan that hopefully will work. Could not find a 7 blade one, except some 70's beat up one, I didn't like. Now I am waiting for the water pump and stuff to arrive. Radiator will not be ready until next week and yes, Bob, its expensive to have it done right.

Considering all the work I have done to this 350, this turned out to be a pretty large and difficult job. I don't want to try guessing what a capable shop would charge for something like this?? 5K or more ?

Btw, Chris, the 2 Bolts holding the large power steering reservoir in place are very hard to reach with the tire in place. I drove up on ramps too have more space below, so pulling the tire was no longer an option. Like i mentioned before, the reservoir bolts need to be at least loosened, otherwise the radiator will not come out.

Thanks for the heads up on the reservoir!
Will use the jack stands, need to take that wheel of so I can polish it anyway.

How many cores are in the OEM radiator?

4, quite a bit of white on the tank sides, signs of leaks. Same for the Heater core.

It may, just 1/2" shorter. I already have the 20" coming, if it doesn't work I will look into that one, thanks

forgot to mention, the heater core just slides out of 2 side brackets after the 2 hoses are disconnected. Of course, the cover has to come of the air distribution box in the cab.

A little update on my coolant system quest.

The Water pump seems to be the perfect replacement. It didn't come with a 3/4" hose connection and I had to find one
EDGE INDUSTRIAL 3/4" Hose ID to 1/2" Male NPT MNPT Straight Brass Fitting Fuel / AIR / Water / Oil / Gas / WOG
The 20" Derale 6 blade replacement arrived and it is very well built and fit (well almost, had to shave just a tiny amount for the perfect fit)
I found my leak coming from the passenger side water pump to block mount gasket. Gasket surface was very rusty I had to plane it down a good bit.

My heater core turned out to be total trash, it had so many leaks.

Now i am waiting for the recored radiator, new custom built heater core and condenser. Hopefully I will get it by the middle of the week.

We have an ooooold radiator and brake shop here in town, old school folks. They recored my 310 radiator for $400 a couple years ago. It seemed like a great price to me. It’s been no leaks this far.

Mike, that's a real good price, mine will 800 plus several hundred for a new heater core. At least the condenser checked out ok, I just need to have the High pressure hose rebuilt.

Peanut's re-core cost $560 (vertical radiator).

Hey Brad, did you ever find a solution for the lower radiator hose for the vertical radiators?

Dean, all I ever came up with was a Gates 26612 bend to fit hose.

We've discussed this a few times on the forum and no one has found anything better that I'm aware of.

I have two or three original used hoses that could be used for a pattern if someone ever finds a supplier that would be willing to reproduce them.

Brad
