I have always wanted to see Michigan, and it looks like there is a shortcut for us through Canada, so there is the reason for us to get our passports. It looks like a 2 day drive for us so it looks like we are going to stay in Michigan for about 5 days. Dave....you now have enough time to get all the details together and find us a perfect spot. Regards, Bob

Looks like y'all had a great time. Wish we could have been there. When are you guys going to plan something a little further south?
@streamquest- My trans cooler line recently sprung a leak. Luckily, we weren't too far from home, and I was able to patch it up. Replaced it with braided stainless hose and a B&M cooler.

We would definitely be interested in attending a MI or WI GTG, any time.

Ludington State park in Michigan is certainly a possibility for us in Central Illinois. Grosspoluter, we would come through the Chicago area, perhaps we could caravan together. . . Just a thought.

Bob and all the folks at the rally
Nancy and I really enjoyed the event
Lots of good folks to talk to and spend time with
Never been to Cooperstown before
Very beautiful area
Made it back Monday without incident but with the long 2Dooo list as usual
Dash AC and dash heat always on the list
Bob and Charlie working on the 370 was good for camp pics
Next year in Luddington May be possible for me
We are leaving later April for San Francisco to see kids and start the NW caravan tour in June
By then Dave will have his 94 360 back from boulder
Many thanks to Bob and all the folks for a great Fall Rally

Im a little late but just wanted to say that we had a great time this past weekend! It was great seeing everyone again and we're looking forward to the next trip.

If anyone is interested, Chrissy and I are planning a trip to the Jamestown/Chautauqua area in later June or mid July. We usually frequent a place called Camp Chautauqua, which is the only on-lake campground in the area. I plan on talking to the owners to find a slow weekend in that time and about getting a block of sites.

Team,

So glad to see the pictures. We really wanted to be there, but the training schedule was not flexible at all at work, nor will it be until next September. If the weekend selected is a federal holiday it significantly increases our chance of attendance. If not, we will catch the next one we can.

Howdy folks! JUST NOW rolled in at home. She's tucked away and resting for the next trip......so is the RIG! Achachachaaa . Great travels on the way home, NY, PA,WV,OH,IN, and back home to central Illinois. Always a little weird pulling into town after a long trip, not sure if I want to get off the road yet. Next trip will be to CO in a month or two.

The rig ran like a top the whole trip. I do have a list of some things to chase down and repair. Blessed be the Airstream Gods! IHAVE NEVER EVER EVER driven over hills and valleys like in PA, my lord! Up and down for miles and mikes with some long and steep pulls.

Thanks again to BOB and the rest of you for another incredible get together. I told Lynn that I just wasn't gonna miss this one. Too many great folks to see and hang out with to not go. Sure glad we pulled the trigger and made the trip east. AND to top it off we got to go the the baseball hall of fame, can't beat that with a big stick.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, hopefully in the spring. Sounds like Dave has got a handle on that. That will be like driving next door for us, compared to this one anyway.

Lynn sends hugs, adios till we meet again folks!

Mike n Lynn

It was Mon or Tues of last week.

Just a little preliminary research for next spring. I mentioned the Ludington State Park which is a prime contender. Lots to do and see.

Up until my mom’s stroke we did a family camp out over Mothers Day weekend a the Northern Exposure campground. It’s on Hodenpyl dam pond.

http://www.northernexposureinc.com/

That’s morel mushroom season and the mushroom festival in Mesic MI. 1000s of acres of state and federal land to explore. The park has about 3 miles of frontage on the reservoir. Great fishing and boating. The Manistee River flows in and out with outfitters for float trips or bring your own. We usually reserve the entire west end. Sites 191-197. 30 amp and water. Dump stations. Each site is on the water. It’s a bit more remote than Ludington. Kinda like Hartwick. Easy drive no huge grades.

I think 2 nights isn’t enough. I’d like to plan on 4. This is just some preliminary thinking. Middle two weeks of May would be a good target time slot. Park opens late April and gets busy toward the end of the month.

I’ll post some on the Ludington State Park soon.

At either park, I’ll probably bring a couple boats over.

Like I said earlier, four nights are possible if the weekend of the 21st, as this is our May two-four holiday weekend.

Cheers
Tony

Classic Motor home get together

Just a quick update on May 2018.

I’m looking at two locations that I have experience with. Both have their positives. It’s going to depend on what kind of gathering we want. I’ll post more soon and get feedback on dates and amenities.

Northern Exposure near Mesic would allow us to occupy the west end and have a nice common area on the lakeshore. All are lakefront sites.

Ludington State Park would spread us out a bit as the campsites are mixed between 50 foot and tent sites. Be hard to get 10 or so sites right together. They wouldn’t be far but not right together. I’ll post more on both later.Click image for larger version

Jan 23rd opens reservations for Northern exposure campground. I’m going to try to grab the entire west end. It’s isolated and every site is on the water. Nice common area on the beach for camp fires and picnic. My family used to grab it every year.

Think for our purposes Mesic would be a better deal than the Ludington state park.
