My rig is in the shop today, getting the front end aligned and checked out to make sure it's good to go. Been busy the past week doing a lot more mechanical work than I wanted to do don't expect the old girl to look too pretty.

Hey, I'm feeling excited and I'm not even going.
It's been good fun watching this gathering come together.
Nice job Bob!
As well as following everyone's projects and preparations.

Here's to great travels, and good times at PennWood.

Looking forward to the pics and stories.

Happy trails
Richard

Well shop called with less than positive news. Looks like lower ball joints and a hefty repair bill are in my future!

Matt, are you going to do the repairs yourself after the Get Together or are you having it done before you leave?

We'll that will be a nice repair to have behind you, especially heading out for a trip. No doubt the bill will be hefty, but think of the possibilities of a failure on the road.

Flip back to page 7 of this thread to follow Mike and Lynn front end break down adventure heading to the first Moho gathering.

You may have gotten off very lucky.

Hoping the shop can get you going in time for the trip.

Cheers Richard

Shop called again. I'm having all 4 ball joints plus alignment to the tune of $700. Better to be safe than sorry! This rally better be worth it !

Made it to Pennsylvania yesterday. Spent the night at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Good trip so far except for an alternator failure in Fort Payne AL.

That's very unfortunate as I was looking forward to meeting Dave and see his coach.

I was wondering if the weather was going to claim a few.

STstudios (Sam) did express an interest in coming.

Cheers
Tony

I prefer Motley Crew over Gang, or the Aluminum Degenerates

Cheers

We are 250 miles into the trip in MO tonight. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Bob, how much do I owe you for the site? I am aware of $40 for the shirts (x2).

I got my rig back last night!! Drive a lot better, never realized how poor it was driving with the worn out parts. So after $610 I got new lower ball joints, new seals, repacked bearings, new brake pads, and a front end alignment. Im all ready for this trip! See some of you tomorrow!

How late can we check in? We might be getting in 8pm or a bit later.

Guys, I have crappy news.

I got the estimate back on my messed up exhaust system and its not good regarding my 280 getting to the rally.

It has very strong exhaust in the cockpit area and the exhaust shop said that both manifolds and the donut are in very bad shape and leaking and they all need to be replaced.

And so it is not safe for me to travel 26 hours round trip with it.

I am SOOO bummed because I have worked so hard and fixed it up so much to take it to the rally, and here now it can't make it.

So I have to finally admit defeat and give up my RV spot at Penn Wood. I hope that someone else can take the space.

But get this, I still want to be there to meet you guys and learn a lot about these beautiful machines, so I'm still going to drive out for the rally, but just in my SUV instead of my 280.

So give my space to someone else, but I'll still be there and I'll happily sleep in my SUV.

I'd sleep in a tent, but I think it's gonna rain the whole weekend.

So I'm excited to still attend, I'm just bummed that I won't have my motorhome with me.
