I hate to say this but I think you're making the right choice. I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision to make but 26 hours of driving in the conditions you were looking at would not make for a pleasant trip and could even sour you on future trips once you've got it running right.
As a side issue, I have a set of 454 exhaust manifolds from a 1986 345 that might work for your coach. If you would like I can bring them along and you can look them over.
Brad

How level are the sites here? Anyone know about the one where I am staying? Wife and I are trying to figure out if we are going to bring our car or not to wander off. There's a brewery or two in the area that we'd like to check out. I just find leveling my argosy to be a pain.

I have to agree with Brad, Tap. All the good work you have done against a time crunch is still work well done and will hold you in good stead for the next trip, and would have taken much longer without the time crunch, so be happy with what you have achieved, get the exhaust sorted and be ready for next time.
It will be great to meet up with you over the weekend either way.

Tap, I don't think Penn Wood will allow you to sleep in your SUV. I would call them first before you make the trip and get turned away. As there is no tenting allowed I am sure that sleeping in your SUV will be frowned upon. Regards, Bob. As for the sites...they are all perfectly level.

Thats good news about them being level. I managed to borrow a car dolly from someone at work so the wife's car will be in tow. We will probably do some exploring in rural PA one or both of the days. Theres a brewery near by that I want to check out!

Tap, you might want to check out the Mayfield Inn Clarion. I'll be staying there Friday night and possibly Saturday night.
It's supposed to be about 12 miles or so from Penn Wood.

If you get a room with two beds it might save you a bit of cash to share. We won't tell anyone, honest.
Cheers
Tony

OK Tap,,,,just so you know there will be NO sleeping in your SUV as per Penn Wood. Penn Wood is an Airstream park with strict rules and regulations....they are no meant to be broken especially by a guest... You will have to make other plans. As a visitor there might be a small charge that you will have to pay to attend the "Get-Together" even though you are not staying at one of the sites. Regards, Bob

Monique and I hope you all have a great time! You know we'd be there in our Argosy 20 if it was not for our son's college graduation.

That's fine Bob. Not trying to break any rules. Just wanted to still be in on the whole experience. I'll sleep elsewhere.

UMMM, What is the Airstream drivers protocol for driving on Friday the 13th? Not that I'm superstitious or anything, but just driving these things gets the attention of the Airstream Gods let alone pissing Murphy off on the 13th.
So if I have to run around the coach twice in the buff tomorrow morning and take a wee against all tires for good luck, so be it; I just hope John's wife Ann is not an early riser and the state rogers/five-O understand.
Leaving now.
Cheers
Tony
