Wayne, I'm really sorry to hear this. It has to be a tough decision for you.

As far as advertising I would suggest the Airstream Classifieds here at Airforums, Fred's site ViewRvs, and Ebay. There is also a site called Bring a Trailer where I've seen RVs for sale before.

Take care,

Brad

Very sorry to hear that your body is causing you to loose a cool hobby, an expensive interest, and to some, an obsession; but we all understand and can commiserate to some degree.

Is it possible to wait and sell early spring or have someone act on your behalf where the 270 is? Is just that I'd like you to get top dollar for it. A person that knows you're a motivated seller with a short timeline will play a not so motivated buyer, if you know what I mean.

I would definitely advertise on air forums, and Fred's Airstream archives for best results. If you can have someone come over and do an independent inspection of the vehicle which you can e-mail a potential buyer, it could add dollars to your pocket and speed up a potential transaction, as it would take away any unknowns to a potential buyer.

The Airstream projects link is incredible and shows that you knew what you were doing in caring for this queen; adding a section with a whole bunch of pictures of the exterior, interior, storage compartments and having it staged very neutrally would also go far in selling your rig.

I would like to see more pictures of your coach myself!

Cheers
Sidekick Tony

Wayne,

We will be praying for you and wish you the best on kicking butt on your health issues. As a newer 310 owner I enjoy all the post and reproduction of all the parts you are working on. Keep on fighting and hope for the best.

Thanks for the good wishes, I did not want to take this topic to far away from its intent.

I do need to sell asap, partly to see that the money goes where it is needed most and partly, so I can show the new owner all the things that have been done and still should be done. Along with digging out all the "spare parts" from the basement. No airstream part should be left an orphan!
I may try the ad's here. I dont know if it is worth 15K, but that will leave good money for the family.
I do know, that like the rest of us, we have all put that much (or more) money, effort & love into these beasts, but that does not justify what it is worth to someone else.
I was also thinking ebay because if I set a start price of 15K and then if it goes over that, half of the amount over 15K will be donated to cancer research. So if it gets 16K $500 will go to research, the other extra $500 to the family.
I need to go outside and take some 2019 photos for the sale, and I will put them on my website, also with a writeup of what has been done and what needs doing.

It will need to be a quick sale, preferably less than 2 weeks. When I get home from Boston, I will begin work on the sales info. It would be nice to get 15K or more out of it.

I dont have a sale page up yet, I am not even sure where the best place to advertise it is? here, ebay, the moon?
Anyway, this is a link to my Airstream projects page that shows some of what has been done to upgrade it:

Really sorry to hear that Wayne. I think the Forums is a good place to start but suspect you would get more coverage on Craigslist. Perhaps try for a quick sale on the forum. You could try a week long auction on eBay if you really need to shift it.

Wishing you all the best in this new year Wayne, hang in there!

What is the floor plan of your coach?

The PO of my 345, Raveson is looking to get back into a classic airstream motorhome around the size of yours.
He has said he wants to wait till his Prevost sells, but you never know. The chance to get one with some known history from a caring owner is very appealing.
Maybe we cane keep it in our ohana.

I'll forward your info on to him.

Cheers Richard

Wayne,
Are you in Boston?
My opinion for a quick sale would be Craigslist local to you and surrounding towns.
Also Facebook. I follow many AS threads on there, I would be happy to help you with promoting the sale. PM me if interested.

I’d join some airstream groups on Facebook. I believe you could get Max exposure. Airstream Addicts and airstream hunter are 2 very large groups.

Best of luck to you and your family.

I try to avoid FB and craigslist. Scammers are over abundant.
If need be I will give that a try.
I did start a preliminary page with new photos from today.

Very ugly looking beast since it has not been properly cleaned outside in over 6 months, or inside since I got sick.

http://theouterlimits.ws/projects/airstream/sale/
Suggestions for more photos or info are welcome. I have not really gotten to putting info with the photos yet. There are some thing that do need explanation. Like the missing dinette bench seat that was removed so I could put a office chair in its place for easier access when my knee went bad. All uninstalled parts are stowed away, and easy to reinstall.

Keeler locks on Ebay have jumped to 34.99 plus 6.00 shipping due to his supplier being outside the USA.

I am getting lots of good questions and comments, and some strange ones also.

I am getting a NY State bill of sale ready.

It has a blank area for Terms and Conditions.
Being a 35 year old motorhome, I dont know if anything should go there or leave it blank?
You cant really make a written guarantee of serviceability, and you dont want to be rude with 5 miles or 5 min out the door?

How do others handle the paperwork end of selling your vehicle, being fair to yourself and the buyer?

Honesty is the best policy, but I can't see how you can provide any guarantee of serviceability. Surely, it's sold as seen and if the engine croaks ten miles from home, it's buyer beware. However, they only need look at your website or, indeed, review your posts on here to see that you are an honest seller who has maintained that vehicle. For me, that is a decent test and more than most buyers would get on craigslist or the like. Over in the UK, people often invite buyers to get a garage inspection at the buyer's cost should they wish to do so. I did that before I bought the 250, a garage in Northern Cali did a full chassis inspection. I understand that you just need rid of it, so maybe that would not work for you. Good luck.

Wayne,
"As is" are the terms and conditions, other than payment terms of course.
You can not and should not offer any warranty or guarantee after the legal exchange of funds and paper work.
I bought and sold them that way many times. Out of courtesy, I offered the buyer to feel free to contact me with any questions (which all of them did)

When I bought my 1983 310 the PO gave me a clear title and a bill of sale stating sold as is. I had no problem with that, I was willing to accept it as is so it was on me if it broke going home. I talked to his mechanic which happened to be my diesel mechanic and looked at all the service records and receipts. If they can't accept that then they are not really interested. All of your post are your record of care and the love for your motorhome. Good luck

I believe every used vehicle I have ever purchased has been "As is, where is, no warranty expressed or implied". As the seller you inform them of everything you can think of but if you forget something (which can easily happen) don't worry about it.
