It just depends if they're using the Airstream production year, or going off the title for the chassis......mine technically is also an 82.

BCCade, a compression check, and a close look at the oil and cooling water will be some indicators of possible damage caused by the overheating episode.
Have you cranked the engine over since this incident?
Quite a bit of service and repair can be done with the engine in place.
At least in my 345 the inner wheel well shields can be removerd for access to the sides of the engine. Making it possible to get the heads off if needed.
Tony may be a little blinded to the durability of our 454s by his strong diesel love.
It is well worthwhile to check out the condition of you engine to see how to progress.
It sounds like you have driven plenty of miles in your rig, that should have given you some impressions as to the engines condition prior to the pump going out.
Cheers Richard

PS I haven't recieved my lock cylinder yet...... I'm concerned.[emoji848]

Received the lock cylinder today, it's not quite right or should I say it's not a direct drop in replacement.
With that being said I believe it can be modified, i.e. shortened to fit with a cutoff wheel in a dremel and a file.
This weekend if time allows I'll ty and shorten the one I have.

Same seller that was selling them earlier that I (and a few others) bought from. He had 10 originally at $39.5, sold six of them and then raised the price before selling the rest.

Wow! Is this an example of supply and demand?
And I thought the $275 I paid for a NOS unit was outrageous!

Really, wow?!
I would have to bet it's due to the holiday mail. I've communicated with the seller and he seems on the up and up so I'm betting your's still shows up.

It's probably sitting in a customs black hole. I bought 2 from the guy and got them a long time ago.

Dan, did you see my earlier post about them being slightly to long? I haven't tried to shorten mine yet but will probably do so this weekend.

Yes, apparently there are two lengths available. A few years ago I found some aftermarket cylinders that the body ended right behind the retaining clip with a long pin. They lasted quite a while until the pin broke. These latest ones appear to be solid in the back so whittling a little off shouldn't be hard. The original cylinder broke at the retaining clip. I guess that is the smallest cross section of the body. I think the best idea is to keep everything well lubed and moving freely to minimize the load on the cylinder.

In my collection of Keeler lock cylinders I've now got 3 different lengths. The Airstream version is in the middle. I have a short one that is probably about .100" to short to use although I have an idea on how to make it long enough. The one from ebay even though longer can at least be modified.

I happened across another lock cylinder posting from the same guy at $24.99 and bought it too, thinking one lock too many is a good thing.
At first when I saw this listing I tried to send it to Canada; wouldn't work; came back as seller doesn't send packages to Canada; so I have it going to my US address, thinking that is what happened to my original order, (he never sent it). So, decided to buy this one and then find out what happened to my original order. It turns out my original lock order is on its way, due mid February...
Maybe John needs a spare?

It looks like I need to put my 84 270 up for sale this week. No way around it health issues are putting a end to my Airstreaming daZe.
It will need to be a quick sale, preferably less than 2 weeks. When I get home from Boston, I will begin work on the sales info. It would be nice to get 15K or more out of it.
I dont have a sale page up yet, I am not even sure where the best place to advertise it is? here, ebay, the moon?
Anyway, this is a link to my Airstream projects page that shows some of what has been done to upgrade it:
