What we have done this year is I reserved some more spots this year in anticipation of the article that is coming out in the summer issue of Airstream Life...

Pat,
We're going from the Wintergreen area on some off days, Monday the 3rd thru Weds the 5th. Want to "caravan" together? We've elected to park in the Presidential Compound because we NEED all the amenities. I looked at the booking site yesterday and they still have openings. Either way it would be fun!

Not sure what amenties you need - generators are allowed and water and dump trucks come by every day - and its up a hill and further away from the field - just thought I would let you know that....... not to mention price

We're so looking forward to this that we looked at the fiesta site, specifically the RV parking page:

Ken, do you know which area we'll be parked in?

(To tell the truth, one part of this is that we found out that we'll have relatives also parked at fiesta with their SOB club. I'm kind of hoping that their parking area isn't the same as our parking area.

Hi Lynn,

Since I am on the 'Organizing Committee,

I can say with some certainty that we will be parked in VIP West, as we have been since the first rally here. On the map in your link, it will be on the left side of that area in the first 2 or 3 (or maybe 4) rows. These are a stone's throw from the entrance to the launch field and you can walk onto the field from our spaces in a few minutes.

The view of the balloons filling at dawn is excellent while you enjoy your morning coffee!!

Cool! I'm thinking that the relatives will be at the "standard and premium rv sites" as they said something about taking a bus to the field. Fine by me!

Sounds like they will be at the "dust bowl" on the other side of Alameda. Not too far away, but nothing like the view from the front rows...

Ugh! We're bringing the bicycles with us for this trip, so I may be doing morning coffee elsewhere in the field.

Sorry, bikes are not allowed inside of the park. There is a bike path that runs between the field and our parking area. Ken knows more about that...

Bikes are great and encouraged, the bike path that goes all over Albuquerque is right at our door step, but as Richard says, they are not allowed on the balloon field itself - ummm thats because it is fillied with balloons! Yeah!

Ah, I shoulda figured. Well, the bikes aren't the easiest means of carting around camera stuff anyway.

Ken - We have liftoff! I mean, we are onboard and the docs and check will be in the mail tomorrow (no, really!).

One thing, though - just between us: it would be helpful if you would let us have the site next to the pool. I don't want to say why that is important, however. And I hope that the Spam vendors are onsite.

I'm pumped. It will be great to be there, to see old friends and put faces to new ones.

I believe some time ago he was banned from the forum for being himself. I can assure you he still rambles in his Airstream and has not lost the wandering spirit. I will let him know you are thinking of him.
