Just talked to the balloon folks - as with last year, we can extend our reservation window and take some more reservations - HOWEVER - it does not look like the window will be as long as it has in the past - the overall reservations are up from last year and they have more groups coming in because of the 40th anniversary. We are the largest group they have, so we are still good for the same spot as last year. As long as we keep our numbers up - and feed the parking crew - we will get the best spots they have to offer. At this point we have exceeded our reservations over last year - which makes for a big rally!
So what does this mean? If you want a spot you need to let me know as soon as you can because I really don't know how long I can keep this open.
This summer Airstream Life will have an article on the balloon fiesta rally, so be on the lookout for that!

Hi from a Newbie! This thread started before we owned an AS, but we ARE coming to Fiesta. We just won't be parked with the full AS gang. Hope to wander over and meet some of this fantastic crowd. Linda and I are looking forward to the trip out and all the fun. We will be there Oct. 3-6.

I just proofed my Balloon Fiesta article. Like Ken said, the article will appear in the Airstream Life Summer 2011 issue. 
Except for the picture of Ken J. and Richard G., the article is great.

This will be our first balloon fiesta and our first Airstream event we've ever participated in - so excited to meet you all! So - do most of you all meet at a specific place the morning of to caravan in? I also saw something about Enchanted Trails reservations - will you all be meeting there - possibly camp there the prior evening?

Gheur - you are welcome to join us if you like - PM and will see what we need to do to make that happen - we have much better seating than you can get on your own for the same price as you are paying on your own.
Wilkes - yes - and this is important - we will meet at camping world between 9:00 am and noon - so everyone needs to be there by then - we will be sending instructions as we get closer

Chris and I want to go on this trip really bad, but we live and CA and are committed to an event on 10/01/11, so we would not be getting out there till Sunday evening/Monday am. Is it worth it for just a few days?

The group must be out of the park by noon on Tuesday. It would be an expensive trip for 1 1/2 days. There are also many more activities on the weekend then during the week.
