Since everyone in Alb. will have trouble remembering who is whom, I thought it a good idea to post some pictures so you could know who we are. Most of us will have grey hair, walkers, and all our trailers look the same, so I hope this will help.

1. Me. Do not anger me!
2. My wife when she first met me.
3. Our dog. He will also eat anything.
4. Some friends we will bring. Don't worry about dietary restrictions, but they do like fresh brains.

And our trailer is distinctive as are our tow vehicle(s).

1. We sold our truck to save on fuel. Our new tow "vehicles" only need to stop by the road from time to time and munch some grass. Our trailer.
2. Our trailer.

Can't wait for Albuquerque!

Glad to finally put a face to one of my favorite posters. And the last poster is especially good.

Thanks to Gene's timely prompting (whether he meant it or not) I called Enchanted Trails and got one of the last sites for Wed and Thurs. Whew!

If Lewster will agree, there will free entertainment at my site while he installs a new cat heater for me. (Free for you guys, that is). If he doesn't agree, we'll have to move our chairs and coolers back a bit. No heckling and limited helpful suggestions. Perhaps we can pool them the way reporters do, and offer them at less-delicate moments.

Pat, I'm sure you know that the 'fee' increases with every pair of eyes that is gathered around for the 'entertainment'.

Looks like Pat will pay us not to watch and help.

We haven't figured out what to do after the balloon festivities. Since my birthday is 10/4, I am asking for a Porsche 911, but I have asked for it for decades without any result. I guess we'll go to Santa Fe on 10/4 and stay for a few days.

We're in the loose-schedule boat ourselves. We'd like to go back and visit Santa Fe - perhaps we'll just take the train (if it still operates). I also have a weakness for observing how the bones roll; I understand there is an opportunity to contribute to the Indian economy at the same time.

Lordy lordy...I'm in big trouble now. Better start saving, I guess.

Looking forward to meeting you, Greg.

The train, the Rail Runner, was running last winter, but the new governor is not in favor of it. It's is still running though: new mexico train - Google Search

We are still contemplating SF and/or staying in a NM state park, or something. Someplace we can mark my Porsche 911 Carrera S, red, if you want to take up a collection— think it'll be about $120,000, but Airstream owners are all millionaires, so it shouldn't be a problem.

As for weather info, I use 'wunderground. com' and get previous years data for a location. Still no guarantee, but tells you what it was before. Go to local weather, history data, ABQ, and last years dates. Interesting stuff.

We decided to go to Santa Fe for two nights afterward and we are staying at Trailer Ranch. They charge a premium during balloon week, but I imagine everyone else does too. After SF, 2 nights somewhere, as yet unknown.

Right, that IS the final rule. A cold adult beverage at the end of a long work day is always appreciated. I'll try to have some of my favorites on board for this trip. <grin>

Likewise. We Virginians should lift a glass while in NM, and I'll be glad to host. See the post below about the "final rule" and libations! This will be FUN! How about starting things at the Virginia Commonwealth Rally in September? Our Wally Unit 149 is hosting.

Wendy - we don't do the Trailer Trash Queen anymore - we will have about 100 trailers and almost a couple hundred folks - so its too large a group to try to do that.

We do have a reigning Trailer Trash Queen - one of these years she may even make an appearance.

Generators

I was just reading the RV Rules & Regulations on the Fiesta website.

It says unattached generators must be 2ft above the ground.
I’ll be bringing a Honda 2000.

How have others dealt with this in previous years?

When set up in the rv area, will our tow vehicles always stay in front of our trailers, parked alongside or even possible to be parked behind?

Alongside or behind would be great as I could just leave the generator in the bed of the truck while running.

Just thought I’d better ask now before showing up, trying to figure out how to deal with this.
Thanks

We had our generator on the ground every year and it has never been an issue. The only theory I have heard about this is that one RV area is on top of a land fill and there are concerns about methane gas seeping to the surface. This is not the case in the area where we park.

The alignment of the trailers is up to the fiesta parkers when we arrive. I have parked in front some years and behind other years. There should be enough room to move your TV for charging. I always carry a 25 foot RV extension cord with me if you need to borrow it. I doubt you will need it.

Methane? That's reassuring.
