Regular leaded is still hovering around a buck a litre here, but my guess is it will take a nice hike up just before the summer travelling season...

I don't know where that story comes from because is may have a different gallon than the US one. The British Imperial Gallon prior to using the metric system was 5 quarts, not 4 as in the US. If the story is talking about that gallon, it's not $9.19, but a "cheap" $7.35.
We found regular at $2.63 in Grand Junction yesterday. Others stations were $2.71 and up.

Gene,
A gallon is always four quarts.
Having said that, Imperial gallons are four Imperial quarts and US gallons are four US quarts.
Your honour, I rest my case.

On rebuttal, an Imperial gallon is 5 US quarts. US quarts are trim and not bloated like Imperial quarts.
Since the Imperial gallon is no longer used, does it really exist? Has it gone to another dimension?

The only place an Imperial gallon is still used to my knowledge, is for beer, and only in Ireland.
They drink it by the gallon there, apparently...
Rebuttal wins, case closed!

I'm glad the Imperial gallon is still alive and robust, but judging from the mileage I get while towing, the U.S. gallon has been reduced to about 2 quarts.

Still the same.
Hi, I haven't reported lately because there has not been much action lately. The prices at our local Shell Station have been the same for weeks.
Regular..................................$3.03
Mid-Grade..............................$3.15
Premium.................................$3.25*
Diesel.....................................$3.25
*Note: I put the asterisk on Premium because that is what all of my vehicles use.

Gas prices have been stable the past 2 weeks. There is quite a lot of crude being stored as oil use is not increasing as fast as was predicted. Wholesale gasoline closed at $2.35 Friday. It appears profit margins have decreased for retailers. It looks to me anticipation of increased consumption has driven up wholesale prices, but the consumption isn't happening.
