There was a news report this morning here in California that oil companies are "gouging" prices at the pump. That fuel prices shouldn’t be this high when you break down the price per barrel of oil....... Just saying

Oh, by the way.. diesel: $4.05 per gal. / gas: $3.75 in Socal.

On the news tonight there was a place in Flordia (don't remember where) but they were over $5 a gallon. Apparently there is no law about gouging - it is only in effect with disasters like Katrina. Guess we just need to pay attention.

To the community.

Please keep in mind that Airforums and politics do not mix.

Please remember this as we continue to post the rising price of fuel.

Thanks for your understanding in theses increasingly trying times.

Yikes! Diesel is over $4.00 gal. here. We've got 1700+ miles to get back north to Seattle, will avoid California since fuel is always higher there, even at Loves' & Flying J. At this point (we'll head north around the first of April) I'm looking at about $500.00 bucks in fuel. Shades of 2008 (and worse)!

Mike, gas is "cheaper" in Colorado than further west. Arizona and western Nevada seem to be in the California marketing area and prices are close to Cal. ones. I think we paid $3.29 in Grand Junction on Monday—hard to remember because some days it goes up 4 or 5¢ from morning to afternoon. Colorado has some of the lowest prices in the country for no reason I know.

Wholesale has been around $3/gal in the past week, though yesterday it fell 5¢ to $2.95. Retail is usually 60-80¢ higher than wholesale, so fill up early and often.

Commodity speculation used to be prohibited years ago, but that was changed.
