It amazing how often the "right airstream" pops up on this forum or craigslist. It's very possible that you will find something in the near future. I looked for years and found ours on craigslist without pictures in a one line ad. Turned out it was a dealer trying to unload it for a client purchasing a new larger Airstream. The transaction for the new trailer was being held hostage by the old trailer. Both the seller and the dealer wanted a quick sale. I was able to get it for 30% off their asking price with a complete check out by the dealer that resulted in numerous repairs by the dealer in the final price.

Thanks for the reply! The end cap panels were alot more than I had read somewhere else, so you are right. We are about to give up finding an affordable small airstream and build a large alum. teardrop. It will be a miracle to find something under 19' that is realistically priced.
A man a couple blocks away from us has a larger (he says it's 32, but it doesn't look it) airstream in his backyard he wants to sell as is for $3500, and this guy has half the bottom of one side of the spray painted black! It is way too large for us to tow for just weekend trips. It's a 64, but don't know the model. Those have been our nearby choices!

My husband and I are looking for a smaller airstream. There appears to be one near us in Madisonville that is for sale on ebay. It was injured. We could go look at it, but we are totally new to trailering/airstreams and would have no idea what to bid based on what work needs to be done.

Do you have any renovating experience to figure a ball park of repairs, so we would know how to bid?

Any recommendations on a storage facility in or near Austin for a 23- 28 ft Airstream? Any travel groups/clubs you are aware of?

My response was too long for this page, so I sent you a PM. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi there,

I used ACX plywood, 3/4". I considered marine grade plywood, but both use the same exterior-grade glue, the biggest difference is that MGP has fewer voids than does ACX. That is important when building a boat, but less important for the floor of an RV. And ACX is maybe 1/3 the cost of MGP, so that was certainly a factor.

I picked it up at Austin Fine Lumber, it's not available at any of the box stores as far as I know.

    Good luck!

You asked where the faucet will go? Behind the sink toward the curbside wall. I will post pictures when we get it installed. To cold right now and we kinda wore ourselves out getting ready fro the fall rally in Oct this year. So much to do ... so little time.
    Thank U for the post.
