Front end all re-installed. All of the front air lines/fittings have now been removed. New push/connect fittings installed, will run the new air lines soon. More work on the dashboard tomorrow, and of coarse....more wiring. Reconfirmed by thumb that the engine is in fact on top dead center to verify that the distributor is in the correct position.....I hate it when big blocks backfire through the carburetor.....makes it a little scary when you’re sitting on top of it. Made an awesome trade today.....3 rolls of toilet paper for a spare Motorcraft carburetor........can you believe it ??? The original carburetor is now installed on the engine and the template for the dash has been transferred onto the wood, final cabinet dimensions have been hammered out in the wood shop this afternoon, we have a life size drawing to work with. There is a lot going into the 97” that we have to work with. The final outcome will be worth the extra work.

I was able to obtain 5 different colors of air line so I can easily identify the routing of the air lines to the suspension bags, parking brake, compressor, and sending unit for the dash. The brakes have all been bled out. Power steering all full. 10 different 20 gauge wire colors are in so I can start to run the wires from the new sensors up to the dash for final connections. It looks like work may be closing down for a few weeks if things don’t take a turn for the better real soon. All restaurants and bars are now closed. If this s..t gets any worse I might crank up the 396XL and get away for a few weeks.......Regards, Bob

I received the different colored air lines for the suspension, brake, and compressor. All fluids are now in the engine. I’m going to run all the new wires from the sensors I installed to the dash. Still moving forward on the wood work. Work has been steady but with the larger businesses closing down its only a question of time. Regards, BobAttachment 1

The final fitting of the dashboard went well, a few more modifications to the opening and I have to extend the lower opening support 1 1/2” to support the piano hinge for the dashboard itself. I fit all the vents, gauges, and switch panels into the respective holes. The new climate control panel is back mounted and came out especially well. The air compressor feed line to the tank (yellow) and the parking brake air supply (red) are now installed. The right front as well as the right rear air bags/suspension will be green and the left will be blue.

The air lines are all done now, I’ll test the compressor tomorrow morning, the dash is being stained as well as the glovebox door and passenger AC outlet trim panel. I’m ready to start the final dashboard wiring this weekend. Still working and we’ll see how that goes this week. Regards, Bob
