Is it an illusion, or did you lay rubber leaving your shop Bob?

Awestruck!

Hi Bob,
I have been following your restoration since you made the very first post. It is part of my daily "what has Bob finished now" routine to check the thread. I am humbled by the dedication you have applied to this project! In a time long forgotten, I embarked on a similar restoration involving a 1956 Jaguar DHC. (Fortunately no pictures exist of that endeavor!) Anyway, just wanted you to know you have a fan of the project!
Looking forward to the next installment.

I cut the remaining 200í of unnecessary wiring out from underneath the hood. I removed all of the old sensor wiring and useless relays and switches. The Gillig/Airstream/Ford wiring has now all been sorted out. Next winters project now has another project. New fuse/relay board and further simplify this wiring mess. Anyone with a 370LE can certainly appreciate these pictures.Click image for larger version

LOL.....cut to many wires out from under the hood. Thank goodness I keep all the old stuff (organized) in a pile on the floor until Iím finished. The Underwood wiring will definitely get a re-do next winter. I did the (Spring) cleaning yesterday in the snow. Still not ready for the road test until the snow is done.....did I say snow ??? Iím cleaning up the trailer for the Memorial Day weekend trip to Cooperstown. The NYS DMV is closed and I canít register any of the motor homes. I keep the trailer registered in Maine along with one vehicle so if I have to ď bug out ď I can.Click image for larger version

One of the biggest obstacles in building these cabinets is that the (floor) is non existent. If we could have built a shelf over the wheel well/auxiliary heater/hot water heater/furnace/ generator housing, that would have been great, but we would have lost about 30% of the cabinet space, so building them around the individual components is challenging to say the least. Also we are keeping in mind the future with having access to remove the components without tearing the cabinets apart. The set up is made up from 3 cabinets, the first cabinet houses the 2 (5) gallon water jugs for drinking water which now roll out towards the aisle for easy change over. The second compartment in the first cabinet moving forward houses (4) drawers with soft close drawer slides. The second cabinet moving forward houses the dishwasher up top and a very wide drawer underneath....I call it a placemat drawer. The third cabinet moving forward houses the dual garbage bin which again rolls out towards the aisle. It looks like itís a 4 drawer cabinet to match the rear cabinet on the other side of the dishwasher. And finally the 33Ē sink cabinet which houses the 31Ē farm sink which Iím sure is going to be an interesting install. A lot of time has been used to keep the original design of the cabinets. I changed all 30 cabinet/drawer pull handles to the new design. Regards, Bob

From what I see Bob had it in neutral. Maybe he was coasting down hill

Not what the gauge says (2). Knowing Bob, I think he converted he steering column numbers to Black tank levels, i.e N for no S...

Itís great to be back in Cooperstown ! I spent the better part of last week getting the 34í S/O Classic Ltd dusted off and ready for the holiday weekend. I donít think Iíve used it in 4 or 5 years. Iíve contacted Pennwood and weíre good to go for June if anyone is interested in a ďGet-TogetherĒ. Next weekend will be another 2 full days on the 370LE kitchen. I expect to have it 90% complete.....LOL. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

The Petromaxís are back at the shop.....only use them on special occasions and definitely not on a plastic picnic table.....which is a story for another time. The 220ís are my favorite...I have 4 and the most reliable. I bought this Norstar last year....super bright, super scary to light. I like to have a couple of beers before I try and light it ! 370 LE start to finish.....

Heh, the ďColeman POPĒ on lighting their gas lanterns can be spectacular. Iíve lost the hair on the back of my hands in an instant more often that Iíd like to admit. The propane version is just as scary.

They sure put out tons of light, however.

Just avoid inhaling the smoke from a new mantle when you burn it after installing. There are some radioactive particles in that smoke. Stay on the upwind side.
