Bob,

What climate controller and actuators did you come up with?

I really want to get rid of my vacuum system.

I’m still going at it on the dashboard, cut about another 70’ of wiring out, I have now eliminated all the primary ignition wiring going to the distributor and ignition control module. The new distributor is here.....sure is Purdey ! I’m almost done installing the defroster ducts into the new aluminum upper dash. I have the new dashboard switch panel all configured and will order the custom switch covers with the laser engraved lettering. Progress...slow but steady. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

Well.....out with the old and in with the new. The pictures of the old distributor clearly show how the post that holds the weight is almost worn through. The new GM HEI set-up is much simpler and will allow me to make changes in the advance without removing it. Got my new AC dashboard duct outlets yesterday....moving forward, Regards, BobClick image for larger version

I’m still on the dashboard, and I’m gonna be here for a while..... I finished fabricating the 90 degree passenger heat vent to allow better air flow, a 90 degree 2” street elbow works perfectly for this application. The defroster vents are now temporarily installed, just need longer #6 hardware to finish the installation. I finished refinishing the glovebox and side window pillar covers, came out nice. The Plan is to finish dynamatting the dash this week and permanently re-install the upper heater/AC box, then start re-affixing the wiring. Regards, BobClick image for larger version

I finished up the right side of the dash....about 30 trips in and out of the 370 to get all the screws tight. Stainless locknuts on the outside, stainless screws on the inside. I’ll tackle the left side tomorrow morning then I should be all set to Dyna-Mat the interior dash. Regards, BobAttachment 359697Attachment 359698Click image for larger version

I like OSB, its environmentally friendly. It recycles itself after it gets wet a few times

OK, the dashboard defroster vent DRAMA is over, left side all done ! Between the leaks repaired and proper fastening of the ducts to the underside of the dash I estimate that I will have about 50% better flow and I won’t have to towel off the inside of the windshield any more.....time will tell , I’ll finish up the Dyna-Mat installation this weekend, Regards, Bob Click image for larger version

I finished all the Dyna-Mat work on the dashboard and have now placed the repaired/improved air distribution box back in its location. All totaled there is 30’ of 2 1/2” duct work in the dash and another 5’ in the engine compartment for the defrosters. In addition to the underside insulation the dashboard work can only make it cooler and quieter in the summer. I picked up the new wood instrument panel on Saturday as well as finished the rebuilding of the parking brake with one of my customers at our local Ford dealership.Click image for larger version
