SS wire brushed the tricky areas, and the wiped it all down with acetone
It seemed like a perfect day.. 65f, overcast, light breeze.
Coat 1 Curbside.
Coat 1 Street side.
Waited about 2 hours, then did second coat.
Went out to, the Awning rail, on Curb Side, and to roof joint on street side. On the rear, I did to the rear wrap joint , for now, but I am planning to come onto the segments a bit. Just could not gat a good tape line... I need another day to perfect that line.
You can barely see it.
I used a medium roller, and I am not so pleased with the roughness, altho I am told, that is the best finish to dissipate heat... might try a fine nap roller.

Inquiring minds want to know.....how many flies landed on your masterpiece between coats?
Looks good; interested on hearing more about your take on the Henry's roof paint, as I'm thinking about doing the very same to mine.
Cheers

I worked on other stuff for a bit, rather than watch paint dry...
Noted that the little 32w panel was cranking a solid 14.4v into the Chassis battery, on an overcast day...
Noted that the Alternator was hitting 15.1 v into the battery.. thats a little rich, so I need to find the new Voltage Regulator I bought...
My research says that the erratic Fuel/Air and carb tuning must be done on fresh gas... so I took 3x 5g can with me to drain the old gas out...
and it seems there was 14 gallons left in there, so perfect!
Carb tuning next time.
The weather was still the same, so I thought I'd see if the bedroom roof painting had had any impact...
Measured the ceiling in the front of the MH, which is not painted...
75f give or take.
Bedroom Ceiling, under the painted area...
71f.
Then I did this... measured in the bedroom under the Pained area..
And just off to the side, which I think would NOT be under the painted area, but on the body side.
Interesting!

No flies in my paint, Tony... But there was some crap from the SCT drum that found its way back!
Looks good so far, but I would have liked to see a smoother finish on it, and even on a cool day, it didn't seem to "Level" much.
Feels like it will hold dirt in the roughness....
One tip... roll it SLOOOW... the finish is better and it doesn't splatter as much.
I am going to try a finer nap roller and report back.

Looking for advice and experience on a new vent...
I like the look of the Maxxfans, but the reviews are really mixed...

Personally, I like the Fantastic Fans. The downside is you need to shut them when it rains (or get the self closing version) and when driving. The upside is they have no extra cowl so keep the roof line much cleaner (OK only a concern when like Bella you have no roof-top A/C or awning to mess-up the classic lines).

I installed the MaxxFan w/remote last summer before our trip to Estes Park. Works great - like it so far.

The only down side to the two Maxxairs I installed in my 310, is that they are continuously open. I'm having my wife make up an insulated cover that would be installed on the inside of the coach with rare earth magnets to close off the openings and keep heat in.
Cheers

They must be rare earth magnets if they stick to aluminium or plastic.... Tony.
I like the idea of being able to leave the vent open without worries about passing rain storms. I normally leave the batteries isolated off too, so powered vents are a no.
This makes good reading.

Silicone one rare earth magnet on each back side corner of inside vent flange; silicone another rare earth magnet on each back side corner of cover, then add foam and upholster........it's not rocket science.....
Cheers

You can also just use the little push snap things, to keep it simple

Simple maybe, but not pretty; I'll go with the magnets.

Did you say silicon and Airstream in the same sentence, Tony?
I’m bringing some soap... open wide!
It’s been pouring here for 24hrs, and forecast is for 7 out of the next 8 days, so I guess I’m gonna see if my roof paint made any difference!

I have 2 of the Maxxfans on the 280 and they are great. I would never cover them because those cold and wet situations are when you need fresh air to carry away the condensation. After living on a boat for ten years that is one of the first things you learn. You need ventilation or you will have condensation. Believe me you do not want to crawl into a damp bunk on a cold night.

I’m leaning toward the Maxxfan 5100k. White, reversible, manual. It’s about $200. I can leave it up to passively vent heat out when it’s stored.

I installed Maxxair fans in my 310 several years ago. They are an older model with 3 speeds, reversible, no remote, manual open and close. I really like em. They move a great deal of air and they are pretty simple. We use them nearly every trip for one reason or another. I bought the "smoke" colored cover that doesn't look bad on top of the rig. Haven't had any problem with either of the two. Installed them about four years ago or so.

Its rained pretty much solidly here since the day after I applied the Coating... I'm hoping the quick and dirty old vent re-install hold up until next week. At least it will be a test to see if the coating cured my bedroom leak!
Went with the new Maxfan 05100k , and it arrives tomorrow, according to tracking.
Game plan is to try to find a dry day, and get out there to try another coat with a finer nap roller, to see if I can get a smoother finish. Also, I will have some better tape so I can get a nice curved style line running off the roof, onto the end caps. Game plan is to maximize reflectivity, and sealing, but minimize visual impact from the ground.
GF is in Mexico this week, so I'm trying to get some jobs around the house done, while she is not distracting me...
