Same here, I am sure with the response Devoman has received from this Rally another will not be far behind. My wife has already told me I now have to cook the Jambalaya this weekend; I get to test the new burner. David Alan has the recipe down so I know everyone will be eating well.

One the road again....
We are leaving early in the morning. Going to time our travel through B'ham right after rush hour. We'll be bringing TJ's SOB. It's only fair. After all, we brought my Airstream to the Fall Rally! Ya'll don't bomb us too often now! Bringing the big pot to help with the seafood boil. Also will bring cranberry nut pies for dessert! Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening!

Latest word from Topsail
Maxandgeorgia just popped by our trailer to say Hi. They are installed at Topsail and so is rebelbeck.
Devoman is still here at Henderson with us until Thursday. I expect a few other people to show up today too. Weather is expected to get better for the weekend too, so things are heating up ... figuratively and literally.

Welcome to the Forums and welcome aboard the Florida Can Opener Express!
My mom lives in Summerfield in Spruce Creek South. I have seen a late model Airstream in the storage lot in her neighborhood a couple of years ago but didn't know of anyone else in the area with one. Look forward to meeting you all.

PLEASE - No self respecting SOUTHERNER would ever stoop so low as to eating INSTANT.
I seem to remember that line from somewhere. We have a bag of yellow and white grits from a mill near Helen, GA we will bring along if you want to use them in your dish maxandgeorgia you are more than welcome to them - makes me hungry just thinking about it.
|
Yes the line is from "My Cousin Vinnie"
We will permit instant grits in our house, just no microwave grits allowed! After all, we are modern southerners, but we are still civilized you know.

Minnie's Mate...
We live in the community across the street from where your mom lives, you can't see the rv's in our community as it is way in the back. There are 3 other AS here also, we have not met any of them yet.
Looking forward to meeting you at Topsail... We'll be there sometime Friday late morning...

We are the ones from Georgia that will be arriving around 1:00 AM Friday Nigh/Saturday Morning that was mentioned in an earlier post. Our kids start back to school on Thursday (isn't that ridiculous) so we will be leaving after I get home from work on Friday and driving down from Atlanta. Looking forward to meeting you all Saturday.

Wish We Could Be There!
WOW! The Can Opener Rally has taken on a life of it's own! Look at all the posts and all the views. Devoman - you and your family did a great job setting this up. All the participation is excellent. All those friendly faces reflecting on all that aluminum - Grrreaat! I wish we could be there to be part of the event.
Danielle and I recently returned from a trip through Alabama including a 4 night stop at Gulf State Park. We were so close to calling back to work and saying we'd be off for another week. So close... but we'd already been out of town for over a week and the daily grind was bekoning. So close... We returned to work this week (YUKKKKK!) so the money will continue to come in so we can see everyone another time. Looking forward to the April Rally in Hiawassee.
See you then, Lucius

I've gotta bail, "Want a FREEBEE?"
Sorry to say, "I've gotta bail" this weekend. The planets did not line up correctly for me to make it. So, If any one wants my spot #134" it's on the house!! Or, if ya'll just need a big pad to party on, use it for that! If you want it, let me know. I "will not" cancel the reservations. There is no balance due on the site. Ya'll have fun! I'll wait to see the pics.

Ready to go
Packed and loaded, everything checked and re-checked, ready to go. Leaving no later than 6:00 am Thursday, maybe earlier. Should be there late afternoon, although I'm not real sure how long this will take at 60 to 65 mph. Talked to AWPPC tonight, he has all of the boiling equipment loaded along with a fresh lpg tank. LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
