Yeah, I heard about the tornado watches in Alabama this morning as I was driving into Atlanta. I thought, "That is the band of weather I'll be driving through tonight." Hopefully, it will have passed to the east of our route by then. It is moving pretty fast and looks to hit Atlanta by about noon. I have said a prayer already for those in route and those in the path of these storms...and for my family as well.

I hope it clears by tomorrow so we can enjoy the fellowship we will have. I'm looking forward to meeting all you folks that I've only met on line. From what I've seen, I'll be in good company. Can't wait to put faces and real names with the forum aliases.

See yah'll tonight...or morning if you aren't night owls.

Tornado Warning in Atlanta right now. Possible tornado spotted near Palmeto, Ga. Looks like this is going to be a nasty day. Be safe everybody, and keep a watch on the clouds.

It is raining cows and horses (much heavier than cats and dogs) right now at Tops'l. We are all hunkered down waiting for this to pass. Hopefully, once this passes through, the weather will turn beautiful.

Dinner at The Red Bar

Since we are rain bound to our cans I thought I would share the pics from last night. We enjoyed meeting everyone. Laura

Great photos Laura. How are you getting on line, air card, wi-fi or dial-up through your cell?

I was thinking about looking into Verizon, but I'm not a Verizon customer (Cingular) and wasn't sure if I needed to be a Verizon customer, if it was cheaper for Verizon customers, how much it cost, would it be worth it for the amount I would use it, etc? Any quick short answers so as to not hi-jack the thread?

The weather here in Santa Rosa Beach cleared up nicely at about 1:30 this afternoon. The sun came out suddenly, and it was like it never rained. 2air proposed a BYOB (bring your own beef) barbque. This event was held on the site (164) that Jim Clark was to occupy. We probably had about 50 people there. It was really nice. There was much food and adult beverages consumed.

Now that makes me feel like I am missing out. Just to let everyone know I will cook Jambalaya tonight for the family as I have everything I need. Keep up the reports and post some pictures.

I guess the bright side is I did get my Pole Ease holder installed.

Thanks Jim

Report from Santa Rosa Beach

It is Saturday morning. The skies are once again cloudy, but no rain. We are hoping that it will clear as the day goes on. The temperature is nice though; it is 65 degrees. The ralliers are beginning to stir. Several more Airstreams snuck in during the night. The sky brightens! I have to go.

You do not have to be a Verizon customer to buy the card. The card cost about 60.00 to buy and then the service is 50.00 a month. I don't know how much you travel but you might consider using only the card even at home. It works pretty fast. I hope this helps. Laura

Question WOW !! This should go on for a week !

Our only regret is that we probably won't have a chance for one on one time with everyone who came. Great People, Kool Rigs and Dee-licious Southern Cookin' ! Indiana Jones under the stars and in between rain drops was a blast and something we will remember for a long time ! Thank You Devoman and all the nameless for making it all happen. We really are having a great time here at our first rally, we value our new friends and are already looking forward to next years "Annual " !

Yes, indeed, it has been a really super event. Big kudos to Steve (devoman) and the other organizers for making this a great event. All had a great time. We even had a drive-in movie tonight on a 10 x 20 foot screen hung in the trees compliments of nilesrob. The rain held off until everyone was ready to go back to the Airstream. The rain will hopefully let up again in time for the end of rally breakfast tomorrow morning.
