We ordered a new double step for our '99 Safari. Two years ago we upgraded with new larger axles and went from 14" wheels to 16" so we could get the Michelin XPS tires, which have worked out really, really well, but it also raised the height of Lola. This new step should make it much easier to get in and out of.

There aren't any more pix.....I just started puttering on this trailer. I had some work done at Cayo's (originators of Avions) after I bought it at a super deal. They're really well-built trailers!

Officially ours
This morning we had the "manufactured housing inspection" done ($60) then went to the out-of-state vehicle transfer place, got our license plate ($30) and applied for the title transfer.
"King's Landing" is now officially ours, licensed, titled and insured. Our first AS, our retirement travels can now begin.... when the snow and sleet ends.
Oh, and an assortment of fuses

King's Landing? Does it come with an Iron Throne?

Lara Me, love the runners! I think I'll make a stop on the way home tomorrow night... Maybe I'll leave all my cash in the car.

Once I have a plaque made, it will. Of course, that's over the objections of my DW, but I think she'll eventually get used to it.
She likes Game of Thrones, but she's not keen on decorating the interior in that motif.
The name really comes from my nickname; King. I fish with a bunch of guys and we like Monty Python. It's a silly story for another forum

Becky -- Oh pooh, I was hoping for more pics. You must have a knack to be in the right place at the right time to get the really good ones and at a good price! Are you planning to post a few pics after you have her completed?

Depends on how good it turns out I did luck upon my Bambi II, but the Avion was a 10 hour round trip & I always surf for aluminum!

Well, this last week I went wild ordering items. I ordered the Oceanair blinds for four windows. I will be working on a way to integrate them into the Safari by continuing to use the cornice boards. One of them will not fit as is so some cutting will be required.
I also got an induction cooktop for electric cooking. It works great only one issue - a frying pan for eggs. I ended up ordering a le creuset 9" skillet $$$ as I tried every brand labelled FOR INDUCTION that Bed Bath and Beyond carried - none of the small skillets worked - All-Clad, Cuisinart DS Induction, etc. Amazing. Just an FYI for anyone considering induction. My all-clad saucepan works just fine but I discovered that when the diameter gets smaller, the magnetic field must diminish too and then the sensor says NADA. Skillets have less body so apparently it is tough to find one that works that is of any non-stick type. The enamel isn't fully non-stick on the le creuset but it is better than regular cast iron, especially on upkeep.
I also got the Billy Bob outdoor campfire cooking kit and a camper dutch oven. Now that I have extended my eating/cooking options- electric/gas/campfire, I just need to get camping!

Used a pool stick clip to mount my mini maglight. Holds it perfectly and cost less than a buck from your local billiard store. Or on Amazon in packs of 8 and you could use the rest to store your fishing rods. Link to amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

Since this us our first trip I was concerned about keeping food in the refrigerator at the proper temperature as I didn't know how well it worked. I bought a digital wireless thermometer and it has proven to be worthwhile. I have found that the temperature can vary quite a bit depending on whether the sun is shining on the refrigerator side, the outside temperature, whether it's running on electricity or gas, etc.
The device was inexpensive and appears to work well. A feature I like is that it keeps track of the temperature range over time until you reset it.

Poppy, I bought one of the same monitors you have as I had a few problems with my fridge. I am really pleased with this most helpful piece of equipment. I have spent lots of dollars for things for my trailers but this is very near the top of my favorites. Last trip out I kept an eye on the fridge temp all the way home. Carried the monitor in the truck to check it out. Worked great, no signal loss.

Smart buy Poppy I use one too. I find my fridge cools faster when started on propane and seems to stay colder as well, so I keep it on propane..... Do you have an on temp gauge - you should. My wife and I have found the oven in our AS very accurate.
Cheers

Hi Mj...
I don't have an oven thermometer. I thought about it but I think my wife has it figured out after a little trial and error - only one batch of chocolate cookies into the trash (heck, I would have eaten 'em but I was too late).
