Air Forums Data Leak?

Just received notice from a third-party data security service that the Air Forums has experienced a data leak and my password was compromised. Is this accurate, and if so, when did this data leak occur?

I forwarded your concern to the Air Forum management team.

I've followed up with you by PM with a request for further information so that the matter can be further investigated.

Thanks for your help with this.

Yes. Passwords are encrypted and we see no signs of a problem.

Regarding the initial concern...The tracker message which was likely generated by your browser or a security software like Norton is accurate. The other name for trackers is "cookies" and these are commonly used and in fact, we set them on devices to do even very basic things like keep you logged in. Advertisers set them as well.

As a caveat, there is a HUGE uptick in phishes and malicious attempts to steal login credentials that pose as messages for legit security platforms reporting hacks and password theft. They may prompt you to click a link to reset your password. DO NOT CLICK.

If you ever feel you need to update your login info, navigate directly to the site using a new browser tab. (not via a link in the email) and use the password reset function. You can also contact us for help with this via the contact link in the site footer.

Be careful out there...
