There’s a difference between the “law” of supply and demand and those who violate the “law” to capitalize (Shkreli being a prime recent example - together with this example of price gauging locks....). Any “ism” - including capitalism - has to rely on good faith efforts, transparency, and moral character to work for everyone. These are prime examples of how the system fails when players lack integrity and operate in bad faith....

Well put. I suppose the only way to prevent it is for no one to show any interest at that price.

That's something that will be interesting to see. The last couple of locks this seller had available sold for over $400 if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately it gets down to the point for an owner as to whether or not they want to modify their door for a different cheaper lock or bite the bullet and shell out an outrageous amount of money for an exact fit replacement.

This isn't exactly price gouging, or unethical. There wasn't just a hurricane and you don't need a keeler lock plate to survive. This is just supply and demand.
If demand can sustain a price this high, someone will come in making repros or something compatible, and it'll drop back down again.
More likely nobody/not very many people are willing to pay that much, and it'll drop back down again

I don't need one "right now" but it still pisses me off. not sure why really, but it does. Maybe cause I was always just a workin stiff, not trying to get ahead, just trying to break even. I guess they are worth what someone is willing to pay, like anything else.

Something to remember when scouting for these locks, they were also used on Chinook slide-in campers and on older Coleman popups. (I think it was Coleman)

Here's another Keeler lock assembly at less than half the price of this Keeler lock.

And yet another Keeler lock assembly. Can't say as I've ever seen this many at one time on ebay.

Expensive but the alternative sucks.

If you have an Argosy here's a Hartwell lock assembly.

If a tree, in the woods, fell on the back of a 360, and nobody with any sense was there to see it.....

It is at a Ford dealership in Elma, WA. It is very clean, not a scratch on it. The story I got is it was owned by an older lady since 2002 and has been sitting in indoor, climate controlled storage for the last 12 years. I'm sure it will take some time to bring it back to life, belts, hoses, brakes and the normal stuff, but looks like a great unit to start with. Contact no. is (360) 482-2241

Interesting addition attached to the front over riders. I wonder if that was used as a step to allow easier access to the windshield for cleaning.

It is a light aluminum channel, not remotely heavy enough to stand on. No one had any clue for it's use.
