2019 25FB Refrigerator shelving

Have you made any modifications, additions or changes to the shelving in your Dometic refrigerator? It seems like there is unrealized potential with our newly purchased 2019 Globetrotter.

I have a slightly older AS, but we removed one of the shelves in the fridge so we could add in a plastic bin/basket. Made it easier for us.

We are going to order another shelf. Our last trip we had stuff piled too high on shelves. I think adding a shelf will fix it. We have a 2020 25GT FB. I imagine it’s the same 3 way fridge. FYI, we’ve had very good luck with this fridge. Some others have not. We did have ice building up on the cooling fins after 4 weeks in Florida back in Feb/Mar. Others have had the door latch to the freezer break and can’t get the door open. Seems like a fairly common issue.

Thanks! The piled high dilemma hit us, too. Do you have a source for the extra shelf?

I haven’t ordered it yet. Our next big trip will be in Feb. I am hoping it will be pretty easy to get a shelf directly from Dometic. I should order now. We will be back up to the farm (where our GT resides) on Sat.

I just ordered 2 new shelves and a new door bin for our 2019 Globetrotter from AirSteam in Orange County. I went to pick them up and they were $580. That in NUTS. We've had terrible luck with lack of customer service there. Does anyone have a better solution. We already tossed our old ones and needless to say, I wanted to explore other ideas before spending so much.

On our Alaskan Caravan, we damaged 3 door shelves on the road to Chicken. Do not water bottles and milk containers on the door shelves on the road from Dawson City!

Returning home, I ordered the replacement shelves from Amazon and paid around $120 for the three with free shipping.

$580 is insane. I’d expect to pay that for the whole fridge. License to steal. I still haven’t ordered an additional shelf. I was thinking of ordering directly from Dometic.

My wife found these "BINO" brand containers on Amazon that have worked for our 2018 GT.

The smaller ones (3.5" high) slide in the bottom shelf area as we did not like the container that came with the refrigerator. The 2 sit side by side perfectly. I measured them to be - 8 X 12.25 X 3.5". When I looked online it appears they have changed the style slightly and they showed a measurement of 8.2 X 12.5 X 3.5".

The larger ones (6" high) can be stacked on either shelf and also fit side by side. I measured them to be - 8.75 X 10 X 6. Online they show a measurement of
9 X 10.5 X 6". The nice thing about them is you can put all your salad stuff in 1 container and when you want to make a salad just pull out that container and everything is right there.
