Ha! I remember those handle bars. “Gorilla Bars” we called them. They made it real easy to hang the canvas paper route bag for my after school delivery days (showing my age there).

Gorilla Bars, Paper root, old English.
I hung the canvas bag over the rear fender. Not nearly as cool as your setup.
Thanks for the memories.

Dc speed control for the oem gas furnace.
The fan is far too noisy
Dialing down the motor cuts the noise down so that we can sleep

The rear view monitor looks and acts just like a rear view mirror, whether the trailer is attached or not, and it incorporates a dash cam, which we did not have previously.
In our installation, the camera is mounted magnetically to the hatch of our Eddie Bauer, for easy removal when not needed, and to avoid holes.
The wired booster is mounted inside the propane cover, and the wire between the camera and booster is secured under the trailer. A few feet of wire stores in the back bumper when it’s not needed for the camera. The booster pulls power from what was the battery box area, prior to a lithium install. All connections are waterproof.
The booster transmits wirelessly to the rear view mirror monitor/dash cam that mounts over the existing mirror with a rubber harness. The monitor is touch operated, well executed, and gets one more item off the dash. It holds an SD card to record both forward and rear activity, as desired. The monitor is powered by DC in the cab. The front camera is 1080, the rear is 720.
So far the system is performing very well, with no freezing or perceptible lag, and gives the impression of “seeing through” your trailer when towing. We love it. Thanks again Ronnie!

Just bought the Haloview for my AS. A couple of questions on your installation. Where did you buy the metal plate and magnet for the camera mount? I am guessing but did you reversed the 39' cable "Y" end so that the power connection is near the battery box and not located near the camera? Did you screw in the cable ties underneath. My instruction booklet says DC10-32v for power, but they tossed into the shipping box a specification tag that shows power 12VDC. Got me a little worried.

I did this install. The magnet mount comes from HaloView along with the metal plate. Yes I did reverse the cable to pull power from the front and I used 3M adhesive promoter and gum backs as a mounting point for the cable under the trailer.

Hi Zapper. The magnet mount was purchased from Haloview - search “magnet” on their website. Yes, the y-end of our cable is near the battery box, and that’s where the 12V power is pulled from. We used mostly 3M adhesive clips to mount the cable underneath the trailer - so far they are holding up well, but we may mount it more permanently in the future. PM me if you need more info. Best, Joe

Curious if the fan is high speed only so the heat box doesn't get too hot? Safety designed in or just cheaper to have 1 speed for the manufacturer??

Well we did our first dry camping on Solar.
We have 1 panel on the roof dealer/factory installed in 2000, not sure of the wattage?, and 2- 40watt panels on the ground attached to the 2 Group 24 lead acid batteries.
So far 3 days with partly cloudy and Sun we are able to get by no problem.
Charging phones and e readers during the day, and at night 12v loads :water pump, lights, fridge (12v panel) CO detector, furnace fan set to 58' and in the morning we have 11.5v or more and starts to charge at day break.
We may update to a more robust system, but we mostly get electrical sites in Provincial or State parks.
So maybe a better voltage monitor and AGMs next year

The one thing we have learned in the last two years boondocking is that more solar is better. Also wish our AGMs would die. Lithium charges so much quicker...

Lithium batteries are charged to a higher voltage than either AGM or lead acid batteries. Tow vehicle alternators do not create that higher voltage so the charging circuit from the tow vehicle needs to be disabled so the lithium is not trying to charge the tow vehicle battery (a diode could prevent the this) but the solar charge controller will top up the lithium battery (as well as the inverter/charger when on shore power) to the higher voltage.
Both the original Magnum MS-2812 inverter charger and original 600 amp-hour lithium battery expired this summer. Went back to A&P Vintage Trailer Works and took out the Classic’s sofa and triangular table in front of the dinette. We replaced the original Tr-Star solar charger along with the aforementioned gear while cleaning up all the wiring. We had to make a new hickory data display board (to the left of the 1944 Victory Ship Asbury clock in the avatar) that has the control head for the Xantrex Freedom SW 3012 inverter charger, a round state of charge display for the Lithionics GT12V600A lithium 600 amp-hour battery with external BMS and internal heater for winter charging, and a new Micro-Air thermostat. The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85-TR solar charge controller has a Bluetooth enabled control system and is mounted to the back of the dinette seat out of sight inside the triangular cabinet.
We still have nine 100 watt solar panels on the roof with room for one more AM Solar 100 watt panel. The original Tri-Star solar charge controller was maxed out on solar input but the new Victor could handle an additional panel on the roof.
The new Micro-Air thermostat “cured” the random interval issue of not being able to run both air conditioners at the same time and is a much more informative and user friendly device.

Got the Jackery 1000 plus Solar panels today on Amazon prime day. Each item had a coupon and then we did the save $100. We've been watching the product for over a year, still getting great reviews and should make our boondocking more enjoyable.

Finally got our two room potty tent and shower. Being that we are empty shell boondockers it will make it much more comfortable. Getting too old to dig a hole and balance.
