new 110v power outlets added

there are never enough power outlets in the As trailers

i added three more

easy to do if you are handy, know AC power and have the tools
  • facing the fridge
  • under the table
  • by the front entrance

Nice job!

You are right about the outlets. I would really like another one on the outside.

This is done to prevent people from over loading the rated circuit load carrying capacity. If AS and various MFG did not do this, dummies would over load the circuit and trip the breakers. This, would cause silly question problems for the MFG where they would have to tell people to stop over loading it. By limiting the plugs, theres fewer things plugged in and fewer dumb questions for AS to answer.

Certainly good points! But I agree with the shortage of outlets. And some are at difficult to access locations. Like the one under the table on our GT. It requires getting on your hands and knees and crawling to get to it. It could have easily been located to a more accessible location.

We use a small electric heater in the aisle way and the closest outlet is above the sink in the kitchen. So we are adding an outlet for that specific purpose.

Oh believe me, every time I plug in my coffee pot I grumble that its too far away

Though once I plug that in, that draws darn near the max power for the whole circuit

Example, why is there not a plug over the rear bed on mine? I think because the MFG assumes you will plug something in over there that will set the bed on fire. And frankly I believe they are correct!

I find that I have fewer and fewer items that require 120 volts. More and more items are battery powered which only require 5 volts to recharge from a USB outlet. Many of the other items I plug into 120 outlets actually run on 12 volts or less through a transformer in the power cord. I can plug a power strip into an outlet and run my laptop, power my phone and several other items off of it. I have two USB outlets on each side of the rear bed that I use and a 120 volt outlet on each side that have never been used. My coffee pot and toaster set on the counter by the stove and there is an outlet for them. The TV's are permanently mounted on wall mounts with electric outlets - no problem there. Maybe I'm one of the lucky few that have no need for more outlets.

I added an additional USB outlet in the bedroom, and I’m in the process of adding another under the dinette. I haven’t found a need for any additional AC outlets.
