wrap protectors

the cost to install wrap protectors is steep:$1.122.50...plus labor..i have been pulling off the plastic sheet the previous owner put on with a hair dryer...why not put a sheet of tin on instead...would that work??any other ideas??

i am exploring all kinds of alternatives,such as plexiglass,stainless steel,aluminium,....i am surpised no one has any input...any comments,any ideas...
i will also put flaps on my Jeep.

The biggest challenge with making your own wrap protectors is making the compound curve to match the trailer, plus the much tighter curve for the lower part to protect the front banana wraps. I have seen protectors made out of black Plexiglas I believe, so it can be done.

Pretty much, it all depends on how much money you want to spend, how much work you want to put into it, and what look you want. Many folks don't bother with the wrap protectors at all. We decided to put them on because we like the look, and they cover a pretty big ding on one of the front panels.

A good set of mudflaps will give more protection.

Some companies make peel and stick rubber knee pads for motorcycle gas tanks. I have often thought something like this would work. They could be pre cut to fit the radius of the trailer. Plus no holes and additional fasteners.
