New Member needs help

Happy to be on board!

I am trying to id my trailer to get a copy of the owners manual.

I don't really know if it is appropriate to share the entire thing on the form.

It begins with s-022. This is followed by six additional digits, the last two being 66. I thought this was a 1964 trailer but could I be wrong?

It says Safari on the side but has two twin beds in front and a pull out double across the aisle from the oven/sink, etc.

I am anxious to begin my huge project but am desparate for an owners manual. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi,Merry Christmas and welcome to the forums.Sounds like a 1964 but I'm no expert. If you check out this website you should be able to ID your trailer.

If it is a 64, they did not have real owner service manuals in those years. It was more or less a looseleaf notebook containing all the manuals from the appliances from their suppliers. There are some good notes in the archieves of the VAC website. link: The Vintage Airstream Club

It is all pretty straight forward for the minor stuff you need to fix until you get into replacing a major component like a totally rotted floor or a rusted out frame section.

Welcome. See dwightdi's comments and link above. It's an Ohio built unit -with standard Landyacht options. The first digit after the 22 is the year. 4 for 1964, 3 for 1963, etc..

Have fun....
