T1N sewer hose storage location

Perhaps this have been covered, but I couldn't find it with a search.

The hose storage tube isn't on my AI. (Perhaps removed to install the leveling system).
Where was the original location? I want to make up something- using a ziplock is a bit of a pain.

It's located under the aft left corner of the van behind the leaf springs. Here is IB's write up on our extension:

Thanks (I even read that before- dang I'm a dope)

Yes, looks like it was removed to fit the auto-leveling system. I'll have to find another accessible location. Perhaps something with a curve so I can actually get to it.

If they removed it, you should see two off-set screw holes in your chassis just aft of that leaf spring. At the very least, you'll want to check to ensure those were properly sealed up, because otherwise rust might begin to penetrate that area of the chassis. Or perhaps that's where you'd want to attach a new device as holes are conveniently present.

See this pic from the blog post? See how only two of the four plate holes have sealant residue on them? That's what I mean by off-set. If your van was put together the same way ours was, you should see one hole above the other on two different chassis appurtenances, about this distance apart. The other two holes in the metal plate were unused by Airstream.

I did much of this project (LB_3 did the bench fab portions) and I remember this clearly. For all the general sloppy crap that Airstream did, they were VERY careful about sealing up any chassis penetration that they made.

My 2005 sewer hose has a door for it behind the left rear tire, where the fitting for dump hose attaches to the drain. I had to replace the tube the hose goes into and used either 3 or 4 inch flex air conditioning duct , whichever the dump hose goes into. The hose will follow the duct material so it doesn't have to be straight and can curve, just not too sharp a corner.
When you put the dump hose in, rotate it as you push and it will follow duct curvature

There is a place for the storage hose at the very rear left corner of the van.
The lid may be locked with a CH751 (or similar) key.

I neglected to mention I have a mid-bath.
So IB and LB have answered, but that location is no longer avalaible on mine due to the pump and jack for leveling added.

Thanks all.

Lotus-- I'm sure whoever installed the leveling jacks thought it was more important to
have them instead of a place to store an "unnecessary dump hose". AEW

Just buy a plastic tote the correct size. Make sure it seals tightly. You can also mount one of the storage tubes vertically on the rear door if you have a ladder. One of the reasons we used a hitch box on the rear, for misc items.
