How can I repair or replace sewer hose storage pipe?

I managed to damage the opening to the sewer hose storage pipe underneath my Airstream International 2005. I subsequently lost the cap because it would no longer seat securely. Does anyone have any ideas on a way to fix it? Or, if I have to order a replacement storage pipe, where to order it from? I tried to do a Google search with no luck on this particular part... Thank you!

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the forums. We're glad to have you with us.

They sell the storage tubes that you are looking for t Camping World. They are available in several different lengths.

My trailer had two installed when I bought it used. One had been damaged due to the right rear tire throwing a tread.
There is a thin wall white water pipe sold at Home depot and maybe even at Lowes that I was able to use. Cut the damaged end off, bought a section that was threaded and a screw in end cap.

Only problem was my sewer hose couplers are thetford and it is larger than the black plastic. Had to file out a ridge inside the new end section but, it worked.

This is not the 3000psi white thermo plastic but, a thin wall lighter guage stuff that is used for water.

Took a little while in Lowes / Home depot to work out the details but, it fits on the existing tubing.
I carry one 10ft and one 20ft hose.

Mine may be older than yours so there might be an issue.

The end cap on ours came off recently and I purchased two new tubes with end caps and all the hardware at Camping World. They had three different lengths of tubes so now I have an extra tube for a spare sewer hose. I reinforced the attachement with straps similar to radiator hose clamps which I screwed to the bottom cap of the trailer.

Sewer hose storage tube

Acker,
Try doing a google search on "Valterra Hose Carrier" these seem to be the most common brand available. If you go to the Valterra Products, Inc. you will find not only the hose carrier but various repair parts for existing tubes.

Good Luck!

No photos right now. I got mine on Ebay for $70. It was a family business, no longer in production so there were a few left. Consists of 4 parts. A cast head piece with latch, end cap, center support, and aluminum mounting plate. You supply the tube itself.

I've seen those cast aluminum carriers on an Airstream and they're the best if you can lay your hands on one or two. Good luck.

The most compatible parts at hardware stores are sewer and drain parts. Probably can get just a cap, 4" clean out cap for PVC-DWV..

Best Regards,
