They came out of the soil in our garden. About 150# which the canning center can't take due some kind of virus that's on the fake news network. Anyone heard about that?

Have any old pantyhose? Hang some in those from a basement rafter.

Remember newspapers? Used to wrap them in newspapers and store them in the basement.

150 lbs.? Call your local food bank.

They were earmarked for the Jacksonville Canning Center, but like almost everything, its closed.

I hung up my pantyhose when Joe Namoth hung up his.

Since you hit water at 3' deep in this neck or the woods, I did this: placed on plastic shelves in the old Mustang garage (not to be confused Mustang Ranch); its sort of sealed... and fired up a small dehumidifier. We will see. Anyone in my neighborhood, come on by; I'll hook you up with some Georgia sweet onions. Can't call them Vidalia (trademarked) but the seeds came from Vidalia GA.

Hey Paula,

Next time you need supplies at VAHH try turning R on the main road head to Floyd but just a short distance down the road at the low point just before where it curves up and to the left check out that country store on the left.

IIRC we needed vanilla pudding mix or such for a desert and DG didn’t have any but that country store did. Gotta add it to your been there done that but no t shirt list.

Ya’ll come back soon!

I have no idea what the last five posts were about (except for the fox photo), so let us consider the splendor of hijacking—who does have the best truck? (hint: me).

Moving on, what is difference between jelly and jam? Why don;t they sell peanut butter and jelly in the same container? Full disclosure, I never eat jelly or jam because they taste like 95% sugar and my teeth start tingling in a bad way. Nonetheless, these questions deserve answers.

Please Hijack This Thread...

Gene

Not that anything has to make sense but my post was for a really old you’d never stop n shop there for anything kinda place. But the locals do.

It’s near Virginia Highland Haven AIRSTREAM ONLY park just a few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Having the DG just at the entrance is not a bad deal.

The nearest bigger stores are a fur piece down the road.

Anyway today’s Airstream adventure has to do with trying to fix a drip on the FW tank drain valve hose. I wanted to fill it cause we have that storm headed our way from Texas.

And for a TV darn glad I have a simpler Dodge Cummins with a six speed handshaker.

Way more than six feet away

I'm still trying to figure out how Gene tows that Nash 24 Meter trailer with that dinky Toyota. And where he finds a parking spot for that thing in the campground.

Never have tried it so I cannot attest to the success of the endeavor, but it has been around for years.

The worst food I can think of is a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich on Wonder bread...

Jelly is made from fruit juice. Jam is made from fruit pulp. Which doesn't explain what makes marmalade different from either one.

On a practical note, jam and jelly both have a longer shelf life than whole fruit. Not to mention, have you ever tried to spread strawberries on toast? Jam spreads a whole lot easier!

Where did “jam up and jelly tight” come from anyway? Some day I’d like to stay in an AS CG. I never think of them when I’m planning.
I’ll eat a PBJ sandwich every now and then. But mine are 90/10 peanut butter with a dab of jam. On very soft fresh white bread. Must be something missing from my childhood. I like to get a bag of belly bombers from White Castle every now and then too. Takes me a few months though to let my digestive system recover.

After meeting at Mulligan's Brick Bar, and a 4am meal at the Your Host, the ketchup on my french toast sealed the deal, that was 50yrs ago this June, SFSG 🥰👍

Marmalade is made with the peels of the fruit along with the juice.

There is am old country store on the corner in St. Joseph, Florida on the way to Dade City. Utterly unappealing from the outside. Great on the inside - even includes locally made kumquat pie and deli sandwiches, Yummy.

Hidden in plain sight.

Our version of White Castle in the South is called Krystal. We call 'em sliders down here because they are so greasy they slide right down. And the fries are to die for--literally.

Sadly, I heard recently they filed for Bankruptcy. Drunks and college kids everywhere (wait, was that redundant?) are heart broken. No place to go after the Big Game. Hummmm, no sports ball right now either. Dang. You can still buy booze, right?
