I'm confused - did you powder coat wood? It's hard to tell from the photo. If so, how interesting. The paint looks fantastic. I just never thought it could be done with wood...

If it's not wood, you still have a fantastic looking overhead compartment. What a cool effect that will have. Post photos when installed?

The 1960 kitchen cabinet was made of aluminum. I stripped all the paint off the aluminum and took it to a powder coat company. The original plan was to just have polished aluminum, but I decided on Powder coat.

I also had them tumble all the window cranks. They now look like brand new.

I installed the Kitchen cabinet and the Galley. I just have some back splash to intall. We are very pleased with the powder coat. I also did some more polishing today. Slowly getting it polished.

Thanks!!! Hey, where did you get your metal looking contact paper for the front of refrigerator? Matt said you had another gray water tank you may be willing to give up. I am interested if you can't use it. I am going to have to do an Athens trip and stop by.

You were only 15 min from social circle. If you get the opportunity go to the Blue Willow in Social Circle. Antebellum mansion with good southern cooking.

That was stainless contact paper from home depot. I think if I remember lowes is now stocking it. I will look. I prob do have another tank you can have. Come on up anytime. Not this weekend I am leaving to Black rock mountain this Friday. Going to take my 67 26'. They said my 32' would be too big. It's nice to have that option. Ha.

Yeah I know how addicting airstreams are. I found out the guy who powder coated my kitchen cabinet was a former student who took auto collision at my old school. I e-mailed his old teacher and told him about the work the guy did. The old teacher e-mailed me back to thank me for the update. The teacher friend said when I go by the neighbors house everyday see this very old airstream way back in his yard. It makes me think about your airstream project. I e-mailed him back and asked him to approach the owner and see how much he will sell it for. Just what I need a third airstream.

I will try to make it up in two weeks. You gave Matt a long 22 gallon gray water tank. He thought you had another. I still have the orginal water tank. I wonder if it is safe to use. I was told they get nasty over time.

Fill it up , but leave enough room for a gallon of bleach and it will be fine. It's plastic so I am sure it's already not safe. Haha. It will be fine.

A third Airstream? If you have the room, you can leave it for a later resto. One of the guys here I know has 4.

I'd have 3 or 4 Airstreams if I had room. It took me forever to find a good deal on my first one, since then I've seen numerous great deals pop up, and much closer. When it rains it pours I suppose.

I have one, I am doing one for my son, and I think I will do one for my daughter. I am not in a hurry, but it is hard to turn down a good deal. I always dream finding one and the owners telling me please take it out of here because it is in the way.. Ha Ha. Now that is a dream

Hi Ho:

I have been following your thread. You are taking yours down to nuts and bolts. I elected not to do that. I really don't have the time at this point. In the future I would like to do what you are doing. I might attmept it when I retire.

BRIAN- Who do you use for LP tanks work? I am still wanting to get my Worhtington's upgraded to the newer valves, and now I guess I need recertification too.

well if Blossman Propane in Cartersville can't do it, I might take you up on that. Don't want to put you to any trouble, but it would be great to get them going. Too bad you can't come to Springstream the April 8th weekend. Lots of aluminum coming.
