I hope you post a thread or picture somewhere about both of these! So interested to see/learn more about your upgrades.

New Zip Dee for my Safari

I just dropped my '64 Safari off today to have a new Zip Dee awning installed. I'm so excited, I just had to share.

Made a 40 mile trip each way to get a new sealing ring for the toilet after replacing a leaking water inlet valve. Toilet goes back in tomorrow after the new linoleum is installed.

As quant as the slide in awning was on my 64 I am really enjoying the design and ease of use of the ZipDee on my 2006.

Well, as much as I try my best to keep my '64 original, I just wasn't to keen on the idea of a rope and pole awning, so even though I understand Zip Dees weren't being produced until a few years later, I wanted a Zip Dee. My rationalization was that if someone had bought an Airstream in '64 and gone back to the dealer a few years later and had an awning installed, it would have been a Zip Dee. I almost bought a Dometic as it is a bit cheaper, but in the end, I had to have the best and what could have come on my Airstream, a few years later.

Did you make the Jetpack cradle or is it something you can buy? Picture/link please.

Thanks for the idea mhony. A wash job is much cheaper than anything else. I do have a new roll of eternabond that might stop a few pesky leaks. This was the last thing I bought for the Avion.
