Member List Update
I was trying to hold off posting a new list for everyone to get their posts on board to join up, but sometimes life gets in the way I guess. There are a few folks in the background that I've corresponded with that haven't posted here yet and I didn't want them to lose out on picking up a S/OS #.
7 Aug - stilin - We have a 28 ft. SAFARI slide out and I was wondering how we register and be part of the Slide-out (SO) group. If anyone can send me information is much appreciated. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f537...ut-152779.html Pointed them at us...
8 Aug - tchristopher - new member asking questions about tire failure with a S/O. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f48/...rs-102830.html SeeMore pointed him at us...
8 Aug - pamp85 - located in Idaho reached out via pm has a lack of wifi in the woods. 2002 Classic 34 S/O
That would bring our Member List up to 75 Sliding Strong. If we add in other's that have corresponded but not joined we can account for 82 Slides out there in the world. Quickly approaching that 84 number and I'm thinking we'll exceed that.
Nice job Gary!
Tom
PS-Changed up the list as it was getting so long...split the list and slid it out wider.

Definitely helpful! I'm going to be tackling this project very soon. Any and all tips, tricks, pix, info.... Maybe a dedicated thread?
I'm pretty handy, but for some reason this project is making me nervous... I guess one reason is I'm not looking forward to pulling all the cabinetry all the way back to the bedroom wall to get the existing sheet flooring out...
Thanks!!

What are you planning on putting down? Could you just pop the molding (quarter-round in my trailer), cut the flooring at the cabinets, install the new flooring, and replace the molding? That's what the previous owner of my trailer did. If I look in places like the under the "floor" of the furnace intake, I see the original flooring.

That's definitely an option; quarter round. Need to stew on it.
I guess if I went with the Marmoleum I wouldn't need full tear down. Found another thread here where folks have had good things to say about it

Floor Covering
We had our original Mohawk poverty beige carpet replaced this past week at Jackson Center. Went with a much higher grade carpet that we had delivered to a carpet store in Sidney. We picked it up and delivered it to service center. We figured that the original lasted 13 seasons so, with an upgrade of a product that would show much less wear we are good for quite some time. Only had to remove a few things up front as we had already removed sofa. They did a good job and we are quite pleased. Also had them rebuild dump valves...makes me feel better!

Thanks for sharing!
How long did it take them to do the work? What was the replacement carpet? Pictures?
Inquiring minds want to know...

We had Jackson Center replace all of our carpet except the bedroom, with light oak. We also removed the sofa and replaced with 2 lounge chairs. Upgraded the AC unit to a 15k, and replaced the seals on the skylights. Big difference.

How to join/register
Sometime in the last few months we received some mail, Ithink, about how to become part of the S/O registry and it was misplaced during travels.
Have been searching for a few days using different names and finally found you on the forums. We have an '03' 30 ft Classic and would like to get our names in the group. Is there a separate web page to register or mail drop?
Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply and fix to our quandary.
It will be interesting to share experiences with others in the S/O world.

Welcome to our little informal group! Glad to have you guys part of the sliding fun... suggesting that you add your S/OS #076 to your signature lines in your posts.
Some number jumps for a total of 83 Slides accounted for now. I had a pm from some folks from CA who confirmed they still have a 2006 34' Classic S/O. Adding those folks in with dlorahcof. Did up some fresh lists to account for all this Slider activity.
Very cool stuff!

I am thinking about replacing my carpet with hardwood (waterproof planks). I live in Florida and would like to make plans to travel to the Jackson center. Would you share with me the cost of replacing your flooring? My rig is 30'. Thank You!

Best thing is to call JC and tell them what you want and it will depend on your choices. I included the bathroom and replaced the toilet with a china highboy. I also had them service my slide after the oak floor was installed.

Carpet to Tile
As mentioned a few days ago, the flooring conversion is now done. Quick pics attached but I'll tackle a more in-depth review thread and insights in the near future. I'm hitting the road for a week plus shortly for a Cosmic Solar Eclipse excursion.
A key insight about the interior rollers - There are four rollers; in a line about 12 inches inboard of the exterior wall. Each is under what is a vertical element of the dinette seat cabinets. The exposed black section is thick sealant Airstream applied to the plywood under the slide section. There are two 'scuppers' at the bottom of the slide gasket to drain water, but the assemblers place foam and carpet over top which eliminates their effectiveness. The new flooring leaves those spots exposed (but behind the wings) to obtain the intended preventative measure.
FYI, I reupholstered (and re-stuffed) the couch in Ultra Leather and dinette in Sunbrella as part of the project as well. The flooring choice is a faux marble finish, luxury vinyl tile in 12x24" rectangles.

Have a good excursion, Dave. I'm hoping to learn how to move the slide far enough out to get to the rollers without having it fall off the AS.

Hello,
I have a 28 foot 2004 Safari Slide Out and would like information on how I would register to become a member of the Airstream Slide Out Society.
