This is incredible! A landslide of sliders! Welcome everyone. When Gary threw out the idea last year about forming this Society we never imagined it getting this big. Thanks Tom for your recruiting efforts! Of course I told Gary it was his charisma bringing them in. He will be busy assigning numbers tonight.

I sniff a slider rally somewhere in the future.

Don

Hi There, Tina and I have a 2005 30 Classic SO that we got in 2013. We would like to be part of the SO society. The extra room of the slide makes huge difference. I have made a few improvements over the past 4 years. Went to 16" Sendel/Michelin LTX/MS2 tires, Dexter risers, 600 watt AM Solar system w/Blue Sky controller, Battleborn Lithium batteries, Mirco Air Soft Start and King Quest Sat. With the Micro-air I can run my single AC off of Batteries and inverter.

I get a lot of great information off of the Forum. I keep thinking that I am going to post and some how don't get to it.

Thanks for starting the Society

Do any of you have the 30' slide that has the center bath? The slide is a dinette and mounted on the side of the storage cabinet next to the fridge is a large decorative mirror. The mirror has an upper and lower track that holds the mirror. After time we found that the mirror was slowly sliding out of the track due to the failure of some double stick tape which keeps the mirror from sliding in the track. I was able to slide the mirror out of the track and put new double sticky tape on the mirror backing. The mirror is starting to slide again but unlike last time it will not budge when I try to slide it out. Apparently the sticky tape is sticking but not tight enough to prevent no movement.

So the dilemma is how to slide the mirror out of the track to replace the tape. Right now it just looks ugly since it has slid about 1 inch. Any ideas how to get the mirror out? My though is trying to heat the mirror but this may be a long process and I certainly don't want to damage the mirror. Has anyone had to address this and what did you do to get the mirror out and what did you do to secure it. Airstream used some random pieces of double sticky tape and so did I.

Jack

Hi There, Tina and I have a 2005 30 Classic SO that we got in 2013. We would like to be part of the SO society. The extra room of the slide makes huge difference.

Roy, you’re welcome for the almost matching 5508 and 058! It’s a Buckeye kinda humor and poor math, let me check that on the slide rule.

Jack, I did start an XL file with the info, PM me an email and I'll send.

Sliders,

When I proposed this to Dave AKA SeeMore and Don AKA Nogginsbro last fall at Alumalina it was just something to do, maybe have a fun time trying to find other sliders and maybe promote our unique all limited edition S/O's to this AS community. This in about 9 months has grown off of the chart of expectations.

Some folks have really stepped up and recruited, Sliding thanks to you all.

I've had a casual discussion with the Executive Committee, that's my Best 1/2 Linda, Don and Dave and yes, we are in the discussion stage and have agreed in concept to start our own rally.

Don even came up with a name.

Alumaslider

Details are not final!

The idea is for a earlyish fall 2018 rally at a state park in the SE area.

We have many things to work out but just stay tuned, its over a year away and lets just have fun and help our slide community enjoy our slides and camping. I'll absolutely be making Cowboy Coffee, bring your mug. And most likely I'll display my Made in USA Coffee Pot collection.

If anyone sees an error in my texting tonight, first my apologies, second I'll try to correct it ASAP.

11 members in one day.

With thanks and kind regards to all,

Gary

Great work Gary! It's simply amazing to have that many sign ups in one day with our limited group. Thanks again Tom for the recruiting. We are a slightly warped group but we all love sliding! Haha. Great things to come.

Problem I found is that if the double sticky tape is too thick, you can't slide the mirror back into position since the tape will instantly stick to the cabinet as the mirror sides into the rails. If you don't have enough the tape will either not contact the cabinet or you will have to apply pressure to the mirror to engage the tape to the cabinet. I found in that case that the tape because it is new will pop off the cabinet as the pressure is released from the glass. It really is touchy.

What I'm think is maybe I can slide a long hack saw blade behind the mirror and saw the tape. Once I break the tape bond the glass will slide out and I can remove the tape from the mirror and cabinet back. Then I'll need to figure out a better means of securing the mirror.

Jack

WE still own our 2004 30 foot Classic S?O. We purchased it in October 2014, and are the third owner. The prior owner updated with wood flooring and we have updated with ultra leather on the jackknife sofa and dinette. We love our trailer and recently had extensive work done as a result of a collision with a deer. We have also added 16" Sendel wheels and Michelin tires and tow with a Ford F-250 with a 6.7 diesel. We spend our summers and fall at our home in West Yellowstone and welcome questions about this area. I also had the moniker MONTANA PAT, but fat finger passwords etc, so may have a hard time responding to messages on that link.
Thanks for putting together this interesting group.
