So....have you heard about Saturday night's Fiesta-famous potluck....with over 200 people!! Last year's event was over the top with so many great dishes...entrees, salads, desserts. Mark your calendar to join in the fun on Saturday evening as we thank the parking staff that gets us onto the Fiesta Field, incident-free. Put on your thinking caps and come up with something from your corner of the world. Casserole? Salad? Special dessert? Appetizers? More information coming soon!

While you are in the area you might want to check out the Estancia Punkin Chunkin Rally 10/19-21

Wifi
I was wondering if wifi is available on the Fiesta grounds?
We are leaving S W Indiana Sunday after church. Hope to be in Albuq by Wednesday. Never been to a rally or a meet up before. Really loking forward to the event.

Hic', do you have reservations for Wed. and Thurs. nights? If not, call Enchanted Trails and tell them you are with the Airstream group. If you're lucky, they may have a space.
I believe wifi is available at the Fiesta if you are willing to pay for it. Of course, I could remember people using a data plan on a phone. Maybe someone has a better memory than me. I was looking on the Fiesta website, but couldn't find anything about wifi.
You can get fresh water and have your tanks pumped out for a lot of money: maybe $20 or $25 per each.

But, but, but....I have a friend in our club, a very experienced RV'er who told me, "when boondocking, it's allways acceptable to drain the grey water on the ground...........................................i n the middle of the night".

Steve, well, it is best not to admit to that in public. You could dump after about 8 pm when all other RV'ers are sleeping since most of us are very old. After you dump 30 or 40 gallons on the hard packed ground, use a hair dryer to dry out the spot (one in each hand to speed the process), or use a sewer hose to direct the water under the next Airstream. This is a good option if you really don't like the next guy, or want more room for chairs so you can party (once the puddle under the other guy's trailer is discovered, he will probably be asked to leave). This is my preferred option, especially if the license plate of the guy next door is from a state associated with substandard sanitation. I won't name those states, but we all know which ones they are.
If you use a puny 12 v. hairdryer, prepare to spend most of the night drying the ground (and bring extra batteries), or use a 120 v. one, but you'll have to run a generator which may cause you to be noticed. When you get thrown out, you can open the black tank too so you leave reminders behind you. This will all make you famous and be talked about at future rallies for years.
There is a solution to every problem.

I don't believe there is wifi there either... but there is excellent cell reception ... and internet connectivity if you have an air card, a hotspot device, or can tether to your phone ... it's within metro ABQ so all reception is good.

Balloon Fiesta Rally 2012 is Underway!
We parked 116 rigs yesterday, or thereabouts.

I'm disappointed that it was too windy to launch this morning, but this it's a pretty good view for coffee under the awning.
