T-Rex, nice to hear from you. I haven't seen anything from you in a long time. Glad to see that you are still involved and with all the work that you did on your rig, you are still volunteering to help someone else out. Class act my friend.

The Bunny and I just got back from Feather Falls Casino KOA, in Oroville CA
a 2 hour drive south of Shasta Lake. It was a belated birthday weekend for The Bunny, because on The Bunnys actual birthday, I was in Colorado Springs on a Wildland fire.
Very hot weekend, 104 degrees! But I was pleased that our AC kept Rita cool enough for our dogs to survive the heat. I found myself in the pool for most of Saturday afternoon, and The Bunny and my sister spent their afternoon donating to the Tribe. I didnt have any luck at the poker table Saturday night. So, the tribe, and some shady looking characters by the names of Snake & Wesel got all my money. You win some, and most weekends, you lose some, but we still had a good time.
PS, they have a new Ale called Golden Feather, its pretty good for a craft beer.
Nice to be home pool side in the shade, on another 100+ degree summer day in Shasta Lake City.

Our friends Greg & Terri rented a cabin at Lake Siskiyou Campground, and asked us to join them for the holiday weekend. We lucked out, and got one of the last campsites. Also, Porno Bob & Sue came up and camped with us, in their tent.
On Saturday, I had The Bunny drop me off at the Mt Shasta Ski Park
using the lifts for downhill Mt biking. I worked at the Park back in the 90s, but had never gone Mt biking on the mountain before, so I was really excited to have a full day to test my skills
And boy did I test my skills!!!
Mt Shasta city hosts a Street Fair & 10k foot race every 4th of July weekend, so The Bunny went shopping after dropping me off at the Ski Park
Meanwhile back at the campground, the rest of our gang was drinking beer, having shots, & laying around/napping.
I spent most of the day, riding with the Mountain manager, Richard Coots. He showed me all around the mountain on both lifts. Some of the trails are still Under Construction, and for me as an intermittent rider, half of the trails were way over my ability.
But I did have a great time riding the Flow trail, with its high banked S-turns and built in watering system. One of the lift operators advised me to maintain your speed, stay off your brakes, and trust your bike to perform. I kept telling myself to "Free my mind, the bike will follow." Easier said, then done!
At the end of the day, I able to ride back to the campground from the Ski Park on forest road #31. It was an easy 15 mile downhill ride; it took about an hour of riding, with one beer break at the Mt Shasta Golf Resort.
Once again, we all had a great time at one of the best campgrounds in Siskiyou Co. It's very bike friendly, great beach for the kids, good fishing, and lots of water vessels to rent.

TREX,
Looks like you folks had a great 4th of July weekend. Thanks for posting all of those pictures, but I don't think I could have kept up with you on those mountain bike trails. Please say hi to The Bunny for us. Looking forward to seeing both of you at Jackson in October.

Jackson Ranch is coming up
The Bunny and I are looking forward to the up coming rally at Jackson...I'm on a wildland fire on the Klamath right now, and have Rita parked at the Mountain View RV park in Etna, CA. Nice park, clean, with good showers and a place to do laundry. It was nice to go to fires close to home, I have a total of 46 days on fires in Rita this summer/Fall.

Thax Shelly, I've been going on fires as a Documentation Unit Leader, so I don't go out on the fireline anymore...9 years since I retired as a full time fireman. I worked 25 days up in Washington state on the Twisp river on the Carlton Complex. 21 daze in a tent, so having a fire assignment just 100 miles from home, made it close enough to take Rite. It's been raining here for the last 2 days, so I really was happy I had Rita here to keep me dry and warm. But felt bad for my friends who were in their tents through the rain storms. Going home Sunday...so I'm looking forward to seeing The Bunny & my dogs Jack & Speedy.

I have been wondering what happened to you. Assumed you were helping put out the fires in some capacity. Always enjoyed your comments and trips. Take care.

I took some time off from Rita...I'm back now and just replaced the black water tank & flooring. I'm now working the bathroom and have the curbside ABS panel out... just patched some cracks. My question is....what is the best product to use to prime, seal, and paint my yellow ABS bathroom parts.

I used the 2 part epoxy white coat from POR15. Stuff is great but I'd recommend a foam roller/ brush. I've read people having good luck spraying paint with Krylon fusion paint.

Hey Trex,
Good to hear from you, it's been awhile. I used a white appliance epoxy (rattle can) on the floor of the wet bath. Six years later and its holding up well. If it doesn't work out, I have a vintage yellow toilet from the Bambi. It's in great condition, used by a little old lady, only on weekends.
Still putting out fires? Whenever I smell smoke I think of Top and his grill (miss the pics).
Stay safe my friend,
Tim

Welcome Back!
Congratulations on the new to you Airstream.
I remember reading this thread back in 2011 when I was looking for an airstream, you're project was one of the ones that inspired me to look at vintage trailers.
