Today is Tuesday the seventh and it's 24 out there right now, but that big cold blast went above and around us this time. I bet we are all going to get some interesting snow this year.

It's 32 degrees this morning on the beach here in the Florida Panhandle. Just a few miles off the coast it is in the mid 20's.

what a difference

What a difference a few days makes! We had a big front come through. Lake Effect snowfall (Lake Erie) last night. We woke up to about 6 in. of snow. We are not the snowbelt area. Those folks got inundated! Ahhhhh...winter in Ohio! And it is still snowing!

The Panhandle is cooler than the main body of FL, it's further north.

It's pretty weird when it's colder in Georgia than Colorado. We had about a week of subfreezing temps and snow, then back to fall weather with highs in the 40's and 50's.

I'm in the southern end of the appalachians and the altitude where I'm set up (Blairsville, Ga.) is about 1,800 feet. Much colder here than what most people think of as georgia :-) About 25 years ago I saw it get down to -22 but a few nights in single digits is as bad as it gets in a normal winter.

About 85 degrees, sunny skies, and warm breezes here in ND. Should be about 90 tomorrow.
