We just returned from a week in southern Indiana along the Ohio River. Great time! Yesterday morning we awoke to 21 degrees with the ground covered with snow! We wanted to spend one more time on the AS before putting it away for the winter. It was very nice - sunshine and fairly warm weather. Then it changed!! For the first time we discovered what it was like to sleep in the AS in cold weather. We were in a campground with 160 spaces - we were the ONLY campers! It is certainly strange to see no others any place - no noise, no campfires, nobody!! We made it to a State Park Lodge for Thanksgiving dinner - way too much food! Saw lots of great mansions and historic homes during our visit. We had planned to stay for ten days or so but after a week and the cold weather, we decided to head back to Ohio. We would certainly return to this area as there was so much to see and do - Veevay, IN and Madison, IN. We made it to Aurora and Lawrenceb'g also. Four casinos to visit plus all the museums and historic homes - just a grand trip!! Almost made it to Louisville but just ran out of time. But we did learn that the AS is not a bad place to be no matter the temperature. Warm throw blankets to keep us warm, an electric heater to assist the propane furnace - we emptied one 30 lb. tank and were on the second when we headed for home. It looks like we could have gotten close to another week out of the second tank. The CG mngmnt. did come by and unhook our water hose so they could turn off the water even though they told us we were on a site that didn't need to have the water turned off. Fortunately, I filled our tank before he came by. Enjoyed the experience immensly. Will not worry about cold weather in the future.

Werner, It's 54F on a beautiful fall Texas evening. Tomorrow the high will be 70F then warming to a high of 81 on Saturday. I lived in Germany for nine years. I don't miss the cold.

We had a hard freeze in Tucson last night (29 Nov)...it was forecast at 24 degrees, but it only (only, he says) got down to 27 in our back yard. This is NOT RIGHT! Cranked the Bambi's furnace to 45 degrees and turned on the water heater for the night...it's next to the house under the "Bambi Port"...and has never been winterized. We camp too much in the winter to winterize... We were at Picacho Peak for Thanksgiving...got down to 30 TG night there...but we were toasty warm!

22 here this morning, with a wind chill of 11 and a light dusting of snow.

Our little Louisiana Lily (pooch) took a look and sniff of that cold air out the back door this morning and looked at me like "what the h--- is this?".

These are nice December temperatures for us here, though. Now, if we can head south next month without 6" of ice and snow on the Interstate, that will be the trick!

Coffee and a fire----life is good.

Currently here in Ottawa, Ontario it's 7°C and has rained all day. 7°C is 44.6°F.

It's going down to -1°C (or 30.2°F) tonight.

Today's factoid: the only temperature at which the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales are equal is at -40°. Brrrr!

9:00 pm in N. Ga at 1,800' elev. and 20 degrees. Running the furnace and have a heat lamp in the rear compartment of my 31' '76 Airstream. Heat tape on the incoming line. It's a comfy 70 degrees inside. I've used the heat pumpand an unvented propane heater mostly but with temps below 25 I've fired up the furnace to help keep the water lines warm. So far, so good.
